Do you have at least one cosmetic product that you have been using since your eyes opened to the world of beauty? I’m proud to say, I have one! πŸ˜€ Since I opened my senses about skin care and make-up, I’ve already started using Pond’s Cold Cream. I didn’t learn about it because of any advertisement or because I saw it on the shelves of a department store or supermarket. It’s more of my mom’s influence. πŸ˜€ When I was a kid, I used to watch mom do her own make-up. I woke up early just to observe her do her make-up before she heads to the office. When she leaves the house, I do my experiment. Some brushes missing, some eyeshadow palettes cracked or broken, used and dirty brushes on the vanity table are only some of the reasons why mom gets annoyed the next morning when she starts doing her make-up again. And yes, it’s all because of my make-up experiments! LOL! And the moment she arrives the house, I start starring at her again while she removes her make-up and cleans her face. Part of her daily regimen before she ends her day is to remove her make-up using Pond’s Cold Cream. And so when I experiment with her make-up, I learned to use it too. I was 7 years old then, or maybe even younger. That was almost 20 years ago and up to now, I still hold a jar of Pond’s Cold Cream every single night, before I go to bed. πŸ™‚

I won’t be a hypocrit by saying, I’ve sticked to it ever since. You know how girls are when it comes to cosmetics. We love trying out different brands, even if we are already satisfied with what we are using. We get curoius when we read good reviews of a product. And yes, I’ve tried out several brands of makeup remover- even the more expensive ones, thinking they are more effective. When it comes to cosmetics or make-up, we usually have that notion- the more expensive it is, the better and the more it works. Well, based on what I’ve tried, I guess that’s not the case all the time. Those I’ve tried don’t really remove much make-up, like Pond’s Cold Cream does. As I wipe off the make-up remover, I noticed that there are more dirt and make-up on my cotton pads when I use Pond’s Cold Cream, compared to other brands. Giving the other brands the benefit of the doubt, maybe they are light and good for sensitive skin. But you know how it feels when your face isn’t 100% clean from make-up? I just don’t like that. I feel uneasy. No matter how exhausted I am, I can’t sleep with make-up on. Seeing my cotton pads full of make-up and dirt somehow gives me an assurance that nothing is left on my face- 100%, or at least 98%, clean. That way, I can sleep soundly at night. This is the main reason why no matter how many times I turned my back away from Pond’s Cold Cream, I still keep on coming back. πŸ™‚

If there’s one thing I wish Pond’s Cold Cream can do, that is to remove eyeliner and mascara easily. Well, it eventually comes off after repeated wipes, but we all know what too much friction can do to our skin. The skin around the eye area is very sensitive, which is why we usually see the first signs of skin ageing here. We don’t want to get premature wrinkles because of too much rubbing just to remove our eye make-up. This is why I opt to use another make-up remover, specifically to take off eye make-up. I actually shared that in this post. But even if I still have to use another make-up remover for my eyes, my heart still belongs to Pond’s Cold Cream. It’s only when I use it that I can really sleep soundly at night. Those dirty cotton pads definitely give me an assurance that my face is clean before I go to bed. Probably apart from what it can actually do, it’s the memories attached to the product that makes me want to use it. I guess I’m not the only one who has a story to tell when it comes to this magical cream. I’m pretty sure a lot of ladies out there using Pond’s Cold Cream learned to use it because of their moms or aunts too. Besides, Pond’s won’t be staying in the market for this long if it doesn’t do wonders. πŸ™‚

A number of people have been asking me what I use to keep my skin young and glowing. To be honest, I don’t have the perfect skin. I have breakouts once in a while and I have very oily skin. But I somehow manage to keep those big zits out of my face (Well, most of the time… Hehe). How? I try to keep it clean and let my skin breathe before I go to bed. Now, I’ve actually shared one of my beauty regimens. πŸ™‚

Oh and guess what? Do you know that even Kylie Minogue uses Pond’s Cold Cream? It’s actually one of her beauty secrets. πŸ˜‰
