remove-your-makeup-movement

If there is only one “beauty secret” I strictly live by, that is I never ever sleep with makeup on. It’s actually not a “secret” since I’ve been mentioning this here in my blog ever since. No matter how tired I am, I make sure to sleep with clean face. We put so much time and effort to apply makeup, but we also need to give the same time and effort removing it. We can’t just simply wash our face with our favorite cleanser. No matter how hardworking our facial cleansers are, they can’t remove all the oil, dirt, and makeup – especially the waterproof ones. Remember, letting our skin breathe by removing all our makeup before we sleep is an important step to have young, healthy skin.

I was given a chance to try out The Body Shop Camomile Range, which consists of Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil, Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover, and Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover. Some may find the range overwhelming, especially those who are not so keen in using makeup removers. Why are there different kinds of makeup removers? Read on to know about their uses and review of each. Plus, don’t forget to join my giveaway which I’ll be discussing below.the-body-shop-camomile-range

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

Cleansing oil is probably my favorite type of makeup remover. Just like most cleansing oils in the market, The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil can remove almost all types of makeup – even waterproof ones. Although it doesn’t sting the eyes, I still suggest using a separate eye makeup remover. I’ll expound on this later on.

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil has a light texture. I don’t feel any tugging while I massage the oil on my face. Like other cleansing oils, it must be applied on dry face. Then, add a bit of water as you massage. The oil will turn to a milky emulsion. Once the makeup melts, just rinse with water. Even without the use of cleansing cloth, I don’t feel any residue left after rinsing. Skin doesn’t feel greasy. It also leaves the skin soft and smooth. Although it works for all skin types, it’s especially great for normal to dry skin.

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

It won’t be called “sumptuous” for nothing. The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter has that waxy formula that melts to an oily texture when applied on skin. A little goes a long way! It can remove all kinds of makeup too, even waterproof eye and face products.

But due to sanitation, I’m not really a fan of jars or packaging wherein I need to dip my fingers to get some product. I’m hoping this could be improved in the future. This won’t stop me from using this cleanser though since it feels so good when I massage it on my face. It is also easy to rinse, without leaving any residue. It leaves the skin soft, smooth and moisturized. This is also great for all skin types.

The Body Shop Muslin Cleansing Cloth

Although The Body Shop’s makeup removers can easily be removed with water, using a cloth from time to time can help exfoliate and thoroughly cleanse the skin. But the cloth should be gentle enough for the skin, like The Body Shop’s Muslin Cleansing Cloth. This can be used when removing the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter on your skin before rinsing with water.

The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

Now, why do we need a separate make-up remover for the eyes? The skin around the eyes is more sensitive than the rest of the face. It’s important to use a product that’s extra gentle, at the same time, extra hardworking in removing makeup so there’s no need to rub the skin around the eyes.

The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover is for those who doesn’t wear waterproof products. It can remove regular eyeshadow, brow powder, non-waterproof liner and mascara. Although it is really a gentle eye make-up remover, I don’t use it that much since I use waterproof liner and mascara almost everyday.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover

If you’re like me who loves to use waterproof eye and lip products, this is a must-have! The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover can melt stubborn eye and lip products in seconds. Just apply the product on a cotton pad. Press it on your eyes or lips for a few seconds, then gently glide the cotton pad. I like that it’s also fragrance-free.
