Pinkbox Is Now For All Ages

I’m talking about Pinkbox, the ten-year old retail brand selling those cutesie patootsie hair accessories for kids, charms, and some novelty items. For those familiar with the brand, that’s how you’d probably remember Pinkbox. This is why I was so surprised when I got an invite for a Pinkbox Party. The first thing that entered my mind- “Pinkbox? Why me?”. I then understood when I read the e-mail completely. Pinkbox is now for all ages.

You should probably know by now how much I LOVE accessories. “Love” is even an understatement if you’ve seen my outfit posts HERE. I’m almost always a maximalist when it comes to accessorizing. This is why when I saw the brand’s tagline, “You’re never fully-dressed without it!”, I was stunned for a moment. Geesh, that’s just so me when it comes to accessories. LOL! Now, it’s pretty obvious how excited I was for this Pinkbox Party- so excited that I was one of the firsts who arrived at Sweet Bella Cafe, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City Taguig.

Oh my, everything’s just sooo cute and colorful!

After a few minutes, food started coming. It was my first time at Sweet Bella and I never thought they also offer “real” food. From its name, I assumed they only served sweets, desserts to be specific. Surprisingly, the food is good! Yumeeeh!

Of course, their best seller- MACARONS! It’s TDF! Haha!

Okay, enough about food! While taking a bite, Nelly See (owner of Pinkbox) and Liz Lanuzo (brand manager of Pinkbox) introduced the brand. It’s so inspiring to hear how Pinkbox all started. Back in 2002, Mrs. See was just a normal housewife who was on the lookout for some cute, age-appropriate, reliable, and affordable accessories for her daughters. No store had such at that time, thus, the birth of Pinkbox. They now have 27 company owned outlets and numerous franchisees all over the country.

These pins and clips for kids are undeniably cute!

And this is what the fashionistas, stylistas have been waiting for- Pinkbox Chic Collection. Who said Pinkbox is only for the young? Now, they’ve got trendy accessories, even for the young at heart.

Calvin’s Grooming Day at Pooch Park

Who’s Calvin? Well, I’ve never really posted anything about my baby here on my blog. Why? Because…

He looked like this. LOL! Everybody, meet my baby, Calvin. I know he’s mess in this photo. Finally, I had a chance to bring him to Pooch Park, a pet grooming and day care center at Ortigas Home Depot. He definitely needs a makeover!

Luckily, the owner, Oliver Tan, was there when I visited. I was already leaning towards giving Calvin a summer cut for two reasons- One, because I know he’d feel better. With that kind of hair, he feels so hot especially in the afternoons. Two, so there’s no need for me to brush his hair often. I’m not at home all the time so he gets tangles every now and then. It’s something I really hate since it takes time to remove them, at the same time, he feels uncomfortable. Just imagine the feeling of someone pulling your hair, isn’t that painful and annoying?! So, to get it over and done with, my solution is to chop off most of his hair. BUT… Oliver suggested to give him a puppy cut instead, which is a bit longer than the summer cut. He’ll look cuter, but will take them about 2 to 2.5 hours. To cut the long story short, I gave in. Well, I trust them 100%! Seeing these hanging around their walls, I definitely should! They know better.

While killing time, I took some photos around the place. Aside from grooming services such as Dog Spa Massage, Flea Bath, Milk Bath Moisturizing Hair Treatment, Revitalizing Shower, Nail Clipping, Anal Sac Draining, etc., they also sell pet’s must-haves- food, treats, shampoo, clothes, and many more. They even offer services such as Stop Over Inns (like day care), Doggie Gym (your dog also needs exercise), Dog Training (let your dog learn proper etiquette), Puppy Kindergarten (socialization is important for their development), and even Funeral Services (a respectable and rightful way to say goodbye to our loyal friend)!

Oh, and while Calvin is already inside the grooming area, I had a small chit-chat with Oliver. I learned that he even trained in Thailand to know more about pet grooming. He and his wife, Char, owns 4 Miniature Schnauzers, 3 Pomeranians and a Siberian Husky. Yes, they really are dog lovers bringing them into this business. They stay in their shops (they currently have 3 branches to date) most of the time to make sure customers go out of their doors happy and satisfied. Having known Oliver’s passion, I didn’t hesitate to leave Calvin behind to grab some coffee next door.

Calvin usually turns wild when he feels even the slightest discomfort. I noticed how their staff take good care of Calvin. He didn’t complain at all! Look how brave and behave he is here.

After an hour or so, I went back and Calvin already looked like this…

Tihihi!!! Isn’t he sooo adorable?!?! Say YES, or else…! Kidding! Oh gawd, he was so giddy the moment he went out of the grooming room! He was running around the shop like crazy! He probably felt so light as a feather after his grooming session. He won’t stop kissing me. No doubt, he was definitely happy with his transformation!

Thank you Pooch Park for making Calvin so pogi (handsome)! We are definitely happy and more than satisfied with their service. Now, I’m scared of my baby having a girlfriend! LOL!

Dove Hair Care Finally in the Philippines

Dove is one brand that’s very close to my heart. Aside from being a real fan of their products, my family and some friends would probably know why.

Dove has been known here in the Philippines for their skin care, but in a lot of countries, the brand is also recognized for their hair care.

I first had a chance to try Dove’s shampoo and conditioner 2 years ago when it was launched in China. I was surprised how a “regular” shampoo and conditioner manage to keep my hair soft and shiny the entire day. By “regular” I mean, consumer goods that can easily be bought in grocery stores and not a salon-specialized product. Considering I have chemically treated hair, it’s really amazing how Dove hair care can make my locks smooth and healthy. You’ll probably understand why I’m reacting this way when I tell you this… Do you know that after almost 10 years it was only last September 2011 that I dyed my hair black?! I started in dark browns since I wasn’t allowed to have colored hair back in high school. Afterwards, I went for shades of red, brown, blonde, until I tried 3-4 colors of highlights. Yes, I do all sorts of things on my hair, which is probably the reason why not all shampoos, conditioners and treatments work for me. Oh, and add to the possible hair damage is my love for the beach and go surfing. I’m really blessed that my hair is still healthy! Thank God!

One brand that really works for my hair is Dove. Finally, it’s now launched here in the Philippines! It’s about time!!! Yay! Now, I won’t have to buy abroad just to get hold of bottles of their shampoos and conditioners. Seriously, you’ve got to try it! I personally use Damage Therapy Intense Repair, which is just perfect for my lifestyle.

London’s New Year 2012 Countdown Fireworks

Sorry guys, I just felt the need to share this video. I’m still on a New Year’s high anyway. I have yet to post my New Year’s outfit, nails and bag so wait for it… wait for it… wait for it…

No words can really describe how London celebrated New Year. Nothing compares. It’s the best I’ve seen so far. While watching the video below, all I could say was “Wow”. I was like a kid watching with my eyes and mouth wide open. LOL! I love watching fireworks. There’s something about it that makes it so magical. I feel I’m watching a fairytale ending- happily ever after. And would you believe I always get goosebumps when I see nice fireworks? Don’t ask me why because I also don’t know the answer. Hehe! Anyway, I’ll stop blabbing and let you watch London’s New Year 2012 countdown. Enjoy!

Now, what did I say about London’s 2012 countdown? AMAZING isn’t it?! I can’t imagine myself standing there and seeing this live. I might be crying out of joy. It’s just SPECTACULAR! Oh gosh, I feel every adjective I have on top of my head right now is an understatement. I’m lost of words, I’m sorry. All I know is after watching this, something was added to my list of things to do before I die. That is to celebrate one New Year in London!

Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards Night 2011 Malaysia

Christmas indeed came early for me this year. When I received the good news that I’ll be flying to Malaysia to witness the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards Night, I thought I was dreaming. For someone like me who simply blogs out of hobby, going out of the country to be part of a bloggers event felt surreal. I never thought of blogging as “work”. I blog because it’s my way of celebrating life. I blog because it brings me happiness (and hopefully to other people as well). I blog because I want to keep track of my journey in reaching my dreams. I blog because it’s my passion. Of course, I admit. I also dreamt of being able to travel because of blogging. They say, when you dream, you have to dream big. BUT never ever did I imagine that it would come true. Thanks to my Nuffnang family for being the Angel who helped me fulfill this dream.

The awards night was held at the grand ballroom of Marriott Putrajaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. To be with 500 bloggers from 7 countries under one roof was definitely a night to be remembered forever.

As the event started, we were served with really good food.

No matter how full I am (I wasn’t even able to finish the main dish!), there will always be room for dessert in my tummy. LOL! This dessert is TDF!!!

We were also entertained by different performances! Woot!

And of course, that night was to recognize the best blogs of Nuffnang all over Asia Pacific. Have you heard that Philippines did very well this year?! We won four awards! Nuffnang Blog Awards, Here I Come: FOR REAL!!!

Remember my post Nuffnang Blog Awards, Here I Come? Now, it’s for real! As in, I’ll be there! As in, I’m flying to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in a few hours! As in, I’ll be attending the awards night live! Sorry, I just can’t believe this is happening! I’m really excited since I’ll be experiencing a lot of firsts, as I mentioned in that post. Just the thought of going out of the country to attend a bloggers event is already giving me goose bumps. I have never ever imagined that I’ll be given such a great opportunity. I honestly don’t know what to expect. I just know that I’m super excited to meet a lot of bloggers, to make new friends, to witness the awards night, and to see Kuala Lumpur! My happiness would seem like I won an award! LOL! So, please allow me to give a short thanksgiving speech. LOL! But seriously, I really want to thank Nuffnang for giving me this opportunity. As early as now, I want to thank you guys for letting me experience a lot of firsts in my life.

Now, the big question is who do you think will be the winners of the Nuffnang Blog Awards?! Hmmm… Can you guess??? Before I give mine, I’ll have to think of my dress first. LOL! This is the awards night and I’ll be seeing a lot of new people today. Now, I have my dress dilemma which I have to solve in an hour! Why?! Because supposedly, I should be awake in an hour for my flight to KL! Uh-oh! Looks like someone’s not sleeping! Oh dear! Anyway, I need to go now. I’ll definitely give updates through Facebook and Twitter too so add me if you haven’t!

Bloggers United 2: A One of a Kind Experience

I’ve been joining bazaars since I was in college. I love the thrill of creating/ buying unique and lovely items, whether it be accessories or clothes. And the best avenue for me to sell these is through bazaars. Yes, it is tiring. I wake up early in the morning for ingress- imagine me carrying and arranging all stocks in the stall. I personally man my own booth so I sell from opening to closing. Then, on the last day of the bazaar, I do my egress and carry all my stocks back to the car. Hard work it is, but it’s all worth it especially the thought of meeting new people and people appreciating my items. I expected the same thing when I joined Bloggers United 2 last Saturday (December 3, 2011). I thought it’s just a usual bazaar that I’m used to. I was wrong.

I was serious when I said not to miss Bloggers United 2 in this post. Why? Well, it really was a one of a kind experience. The moment I entered the gym of Treston International College (where the bazaar was held), I already sensed how exciting that day would be, even if I only had 2 hours of sleep the night before. The place was packed with fashionable people. I felt I was in some fashion show. From the organizers to the sellers, everyone was gorgeously dressed. No doubt, it was indeed a fashion bloggers event!

Just before 11am, the line outside the gym was starting to get longer and longer. Guests were starting to flock, and guess what?! Almost everyone was fasyon!!! Seriously, I was like watching a fashion show! My eyes were drooling! Everyone looked so gorgeous from head to toe! And when the door opened, I thought I was watching the movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Remember that scene where girls lined up in a sale event and started panicking as they buy? I just saw that and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was for real. Almost everyone seemed afraid to lose those one of a kind pieces. It was amazing.

What made it more fun is the games they had during the event. I wasn’t able to participate though since I had to man my booth. Thankfully, my dear photog was able to take a few shots.

Laureen Uy and Divine Lee, who also had stalls in the bazaar, presented some of the games.

Don’t You Dare Miss Bloggers United 2 This Saturday!!!

Finally, I’m back from vacation!!! I actually arrived last Tuesday, but I went straight to the St. James bazaar to man our booth. From the airport, I just took a shower and fixed some of my things, then off to work! No sleep at all! Just imagine how I looked that day. Add to that the extremely hot weather! From layered clothes, coat and boots, I was wearing my most comfortable clothes and I was still sweating as if I was in a sauna! LOL! Well, all our hard work was worth it. And now, I’ll be part of another bazaar, which makes me sooo excited! I’ve wanted to post about it as soon as I got the news, but I had very limited internet access then. Anyway, here it is!

Manila’s finest fashion bloggers will leave their laptops at home once again to attend BLOGGERS UNITED BAZAAR (Part 2) on December 3, 2011 (this Saturday!) at Treston International College, Taguig, this coming holiday season. Due to insistent demand from readers and bloggers alike, Bloggers United team in partnership with the country’s largest online shopping website, Multiply Philippines have gathered Manila’s fashion bloggers to sell their pre-loved but very stylish closet pieces! This is my first time to join, making me really excited! Aside from the fact that there would be a ton of fashion bloggers selling, the prices are incredibly low! I’m excited to bond with my fellow bloggers, sell my clothes and bags, and of course, shop!!! LOL!

This event is the perfect opportunity for both bloggers and their adoring readers to mingle and personally interact with each other. Fun contests and exciting giveaways from sponsors and entertaining performances from bloggers (Walkie Talkies, Reese & Vica) themselves will definitely keep this event from being a dull one.

Some of the notable bloggers attending the event include Divine Lee, Laureen Uy, Kookie Buhain, Lissa Kahayaon, David Guison, Karl Leuterio, Patricia Prieto and Preview Magazine’s own Daryl and Andre Chang.

This is a one-day-only event that you shouldn’t really miss! It will be in a bigger venue with twice more the number of participating bloggers to meet! This is the perfect shopping day this Christmas because the most affordable and most fashionable clothes, accessories and footwear will be up for grabs. See you!
