Make-Up 101: A Foundation Primer is a Must

Category: Beauty, Lush-cious FindsLush Angel @ 10:25 am

In my previous post, I’ve already shared my new found concealer. Well, the concealer itself works well in hiding those dark circles around the eyes, pimple scars, or basically anything you want to cover. As I said in my post though, I bought two other products for better, or shall I say BEST results. :-) Oh, make that three now since I recently purchased another important beauty tool right before I left for Bangkok. Hehe! :-) Anyway, to get that ultimate flawless complexion, check out this beauty product that I find essential, but is usually neglected.

I have read and heard a number of professional make-up artists talk about primers, but I never really paid much attention to it. I know I am not alone. Some ladies out there probably skip the primer as well right after applying your trusted moisturizer. Recently, I had a beauty talk with my friend, who is a freelance make-up artist. She did my make-up once for a final casting call. Geesh, yes I was pushed to go for a casting! Now I’m shy! Hahaha! :-) Anyway, moving on… I really liked what she did for my natural look and my make-up did not wear off even after several hours! In addition to this, my skin did not oil too much, which is a miracle! :-) When I went out with her again, I really had to ask for the products she used on me. At the back of my mind, I definitely have to buy them! Me not having an oily skin after several hours on full make-up is a miracle! LOL! :-)

And what’s the secret to a flawless complexion?

Make-Up 101: The Best Concealer for Lush Angel

Category: Beauty, Lush-cious FindsLush Angel @ 12:10 pm

I haven’t shared my beauty products for quite some time now. Sorry, my bad! My busy schedule the past few months did not allow me to blog anything! Well, now I’m free! :-) Plus, now is the perfect time for me to share some of my beauty products since I just recently spent on some make-up stuff. Oh dear, I’m really broke! In one day, I spent about a little more than Php 5,000 just for make-up! Argh! Oh, and add to that my shopping at Forever 21 two days after! Yes, finally I was able to drop by SM Megamall. :-) And guess why?! I went there for a check-up since I’ve been sick for almost 5 days now. Before going to the clinic, I stayed at Forever 21 for 4 hours and left the store as if there’s no tomorrow! I thought I’d feel better afterwards, but I was so wrong! LOL! I’m still sick, plus it just made me feel so broke. Haha! Since I don’t have work now, I love the fact that I’m able to rest all day and do whatever I want. I hate it as well since I end up shopping almost everyday! Oh dear! But anyway, everything I bought is really worth it. :-) As for the make-up, I have already tried them on. I was surprised with the outcome of my make-up. It’s like professionally done! LOL! Anyway, enough of my blabbering here. Let’s go back to business…

Silver Bling Blings

Category: Accessories, Fashion, Lush-cious FindsLush Angel @ 2:08 pm

For those who have been reading my blog for some time now and for those who know me, they all know how much i looove accessories. My collection grew through time. All sorts of colors, shades, and sizes… Name it, I probably have it! It’s a mix of designer pieces, hand me downs from my mom and aunt, bargains from bazaars and department stores, and unique blings from my trips. I wish to share all of them one day here, but for now, I just have to keep you waiting.  It’s such a mess! They are all over my pad right now! I really have to buy a holder for them when I move to a bigger place. My mom is so stressed when she goes to my place. She wonders how all my stuff fit in my place. So now she’s trying to ban me from shopping until I move to a more spacious pad! LOL!

Going Retro in the Metro

Category: Bags, Fashion, Gucci, Lush-cious Finds, Lush-cious OutfitsLush Angel @ 8:47 am

On the way to the office, I noticed that the usual drive from Libis to Fort Bonifacio has been cut in half. My travel time which usually takes 45 minutes now only takes 20 minutes. It is indeed a sign that the summer has started. It then dawned upon me how much I miss being a student and having a summer break. For all those who are lucky to still have a summer break, this is a good time to fix your closet and sort out all your clothes. I’m sure you will find that lil’ black dress that you have been looking for ages or that acid washed denim shorts or skirt that you forgot you even had. Now is the best time to look for those old pieces that you haven’t worn for a long time or better yet ransack your mom’s closet and go with the vintage-look! :-)

Here are some of my takes on going vintage. I usually associate vintage with earth colors for some reason so I would go for colors like army green, cream, beige or brown to get that vintage look. Since the lace trend is back, wearing lacey tops would be perfect for this look as well. It’s sooo Victorian, which I sooo L-O-V-E!!! One key with the vintage look is to mix and match. Mix the old with new pieces to balance it out so you won’t look like too much blast from the past. LOL! :-)

One weekday, I decided to go vintage in the office. Actually, it was just an accident and I didn’t realize I was wearing vintage until I stood in front of the mirror! Hehehe! When I looked at myself on the mirror, I said to myself  “Ooooh, I’m like so vintage-y today!” LOL! You are probably now wondering what I looked like so here is my vintage outfit that day. :-)

Budget Smartphone: BlackBerry Curve 8520

Category: Lush-cious Finds, TechyLush Angel @ 12:26 pm

It has been a while since I last posted anything about gadgets. Well, obviously ‘coz I had to stop from blogging for a while. I’m going insane with my frantic schedule already! Hehehe! Anyway, one of the latest gadgets I got before the start of the new year is this new BlackBerry Curve 8520 also known as Gemini. I have been planning to get a BlackBerry since last year. Well, I was choosing between an iPhone and a BlackBerry. The iPhone should have been perfect fit for me since I have already switched to Mac and ‘Once you go Mac, There’s NO turning Back!’ :-)  So I wanted my gadgets to be all out Apple. Wehehehe! :-) I had to ditch the iPhone though since I usually have long nails and it’s merely impossible for me to use it. It’s ultra sensitive keypad only responds to the human ‘touch’ and won’t work with any stylus or in my case, my glimmering nails.  Hahaha! I tried to give it a go but I really had a hard time typing. I usually press on the wrong letters! Definitely, the iPhone is not for me and so BlackBerry it is! :-)

If you ask me why this BlackBerry is a must buy, it’s the unbelievable cheap price! :-)  BlackBerry phones are usually Php 20,000 and up. It is surprising that BlackBerry released an affordable version. This was only about Php 15,000 in Globe Telecom. I think they are now selling it for Php 16,000 with the Prepaid kit, still cheap for a QWERTY phone and for a BlackBerry, of course. Check out my new BlackBerry Curve 8520 below. Just click to enlarge. :-)

Breaking-in My New Prada Sunnies

Category: Fashion, Lush-cious FindsLush Angel @ 10:35 am

For those who have been reading my blog, you probably know by now how much I love sunglasses. Now I’m wondering-Is there anything I don’t love when it has something to do with fashion?! I’m starting to notice I keep on saying I’m addicted to this and that or I love this, I love that. Haaaay! Is this a cause of over work?! LOL!

Anyway, my last purchase of sunnies was I think early last year, which I completely forgot to make a post. Oooops! My bad! Hehehe! Well, I really don’t have plans of getting a new one anytime soon since I don’t get to wear all of my sunglasses anymore. My mom just surprised me with this when I got home from London. She got it in Amsterdam. Me likey! :-)  Thanks Momski! Here it is… Just click on the pictures to enlarge ;-)

Lace Skirt for a Night Out

Category: Bags, Chanel, Fashion, Lush-cious Finds, Lush-cious OutfitsLush Angel @ 2:54 pm

Lace tops, lace skirts, lace leggings… We’ve been seeing a lot of these in runways. Celebs dig this trend as well. And I can’t get enough of it too! LOL! :-)

I’ve been buying lacy tops this past few weekends. Now, I’m featuring here one of my lush-cious finds in a Rockwell bazaar last December. I know, this is such a late post. I bought a number of skirts in that bazaar, but this one is my fave. :-)  I got a draped lace skirt with chain and gem detail from Glitterati for Php 950. So how did I wear this lace skirt in one of my Saturday nightouts without looking so vintage? Hehehe! :-) Check out the pics below… You can click the photos to enlarge. :-)

Zara Caged Sandals

Category: Fashion, Lush-cious Finds, Shoes, SandalsLush Angel @ 4:36 am

Oh no!!! I think I’m becoming a shoe addict already! This doesn’t mean I’m saying goodbye to my bag addiction though. Now, that’s bad! Hehehe! Well, I’m currently in the process of deciding where to buy my next babies. And since I can’t get them anytime soon, I have to satisfy myself with some retail therapy first to keep me sane! Hehehe! :-) (Now that sounds insane… LOL!)

Anyway, during my last visit at Zara, I saw this uber cutesy and sexy caged sandals. :-) I have always been a fan of strappy/ caged shoes. I find them caged sandalsreally sexy with or without towering high heels. When I saw this pair in Zara, I tried it on right away. I find it comfy despite its 3.5” heels. Oh, and the straps… they aren’t ordinary, plain straps. The leather strands are braided to add detail and texture to the straps. Me likey! :-) And the price? It’s just less than Php 3,000. If I remember it correctly, this caged shoes is only Php 2,900. :-) Check them out below.

Go Wild with Shoes

Category: Fashion, Lush-cious Finds, Shoes, SandalsLush Angel @ 2:14 pm

As Nina Garcia said, a true fashionista is always daring and never dull. :-)

I’m sooo loving animal prints. It can spice up a simple outfit. It can throw a slight element of boldness. Well, just don’t overdo it or you might look like you belong to the jungle. *wink* As Nina Garcia suggested in her book The One Hundred, wear only one piece of animal print at a time, or you might look like a fashion roadkill. Pair animal print with neutral colors. Keep everything simple, and the print will carry itself. :-)

Recently, I purchased a peep toe high heeled shoes from Mango. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It’s made of faux snake skin, but who cares? It was on sale! Hehehe! I got it for around Php 2,500 only. Check it out below.
