How can one pull off an outfit that’s both comfortable and classy? Is that even possible? My answer: Of course! How?
Well, keep it simple and wear classic pieces.
First, let’s talk about the trousers. Fit is very important. Make sure it’s not too tight, creating bulges at the wrong places, or it’s not too loose that it looks lousy. I got this pair from MEMO. They have well-designed pants for both men and women.
MEMO’s denims for men come in skinny and slim fits, while chinos and dressy trousers come in slim, slim straight, and skinny fits. For the ladies, they have a range of denims and non-denims, such as chinos and dress pants that come in slim and skinny fits, and skinny fit denims with washed and distressed details. The collection for both men and women are available in color options that are easy to mix and match, like black, khaki, navy blue, and dark gray.
If you want comfort, at the same time dressy, go for chinos or dress pants. It’s definitely more formal than denim, but it can easily be worn on casual days. It’s a classic piece that every man and woman should have in the closet. Chinos can be worn on an out of town trip, in the mall, at the office, on a night out, etc. It’s just a matter of how you style it or what you pair it with. For a casual look, you can opt to fold the bottom part of the trousers and slip on your favorite pair of sneakers. On the other hand, you can take it a notch higher by wearing a dressy blouse and a pair of heels. For this look, I’d say I went for something in between.
I paired my khaki pants with a plain light blue sleeveless top. Again, since I’m after comfort, I chose a non-body-hugging cotton top. Keep it less casual by throwing in a classic black blazer.
I love the versatility of a black blazer. I can wear it with anything – denims, chinos, or dress. Pull up the sleeves for a casual vibe, hang it around the shoulders for an elegant feel, or wear it as a normal blazer to make the look more formal. It’s a piece that should be invested on.
And for a lady, a small crossbody purse screams comfort – no back aches from carrying huge handbags! Go for classic, elegant styles like chain strap with silver or gold hardware.
Since it was just a casual day for me, I wore flats. I chose my cream ballet flats to keep the look classy. I think every lady must have this classic ballet shoes. It can practically be worn anytime, anywhere, and with anything!
I got this pair from Aere. I really appreciate the pillow-like footbed and cushioned arch support padding, making it perfect even for long walks.
But of course, if you want to dress up the look more, you must wear heels!
Comfortable dressing doesn’t have to be lousy. It’s all about simplicity and putting the classic pieces together. And when in doubt, remember that less is more.
