Last Saturday, K-Palette held a bloggers event at Beauty Bar, Greenbelt 5. If you remember, it was one stormy day here in Manila. Who said that would stop us from meeting Noriko Imura, K-Palette’s lead makeup artist?! She has been in the industry for more than 20 years and she’s known for her brow and liner expertise. Plus, having heard so many great reviews on K-Palette, I knew I have to be there and see for myself how it could possibly be a “1-Day Tattoo”! Do you know that K-Palette has won several beauty awards in Japan, Singapore and the Philippines?! Amazing!
Meet Imura-San π How I wish I can still speak Japanese!!!
The event started with Ms. Cheryl Chua, President of Beautybox, sharing how a lost umbrella led her to discover K-Palette. I find it actually inspiring! She just had a family vacation in Singapore, where she lost a borrowed umbrella. To replace it, she went in a store to buy one and suddenly saw K-Palette in one of the racks. Well, I guess a packaging that claims “1-Day Tattoo” would catch the attention of anyone who’s into eyebrows! Fast forward and it’s now her business here in the Philippines. π
K-Palette currently has 4 main products, which are all being sold at Beauty Bar- Zero Kuma Cover Concealer, Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner, 2 Way Eyebrow Liner and Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h.
Before the event started, Noriko Imura already applied foundation onto the model’s face. She then brightened the under eye area using Zero Kuma Cover Concealer. “Kuma” means eyebags in english.
Zero Kuma Cover Concealer comes in 3 types- and I’m not just talking about the shades. The variants are also based on their uses- 01 Moisturizing, 02 Brightening and 03 Improves Blood Circulation. It retails for PHP 895/ tube.
She then did the eyebrows. The trend now- thin brows no more! She also answered a common brow question- Where should brows end? For day look, you can opt for shorter brows. Use a pencil or a brush and place it against the edge of the lip and outer edge of the eye. For night or glam look, go for longer brows. Place the pencil or brush against the edge of the nose and outer edge of the eyes, as seen below.
Using the 2 Way Eyebrow Liner, she defined the brows of the model.
What’s this 2-way Eyebrow Liner? It has the liquid tip, which is smudge proof and water-resistant. On the other end, it has the powder tip for a more 3 dimensional look. It’s available in 2 shades- 01 Chocolate Brown (for dark hair) and 02 Honey Brown (for light hair). It retails for PHP 1,050.
K-Palette also has the Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner, which is basically the same as the 2 Way Eyebrow Liner, minus the Powder Tip. It’s also water resistant and smudge proof, which lasts the whole day. With the translucent ink, “overdarkened eyebrows” can be avoided. It’s also available in 2 shades- 01 Natural Brown and 02 Grayish Brown. This retails for PHP 895.
Then came the exciting part- lining the eyes! Noriko Imura illustrated how to draw the “natural line”, as seen below.
You can slightly draw the line upward towards the end of the eye and extend it a bit. You can also use a brown eyeliner for the outer corner of the lower lash line (as seen in the upper right illustration).
For the cat’s eye, line is thicker and longer as seen below.
To achieve that perfect line, here’s K-Palette’s wonder product- Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h
Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h has been consistently rated as one of the top three selling eyeliners in Japan. It’s waterproof and smudge proof, which lasts the whole day. What make’s it special is its micro fiber brush, which is exceptionally fine! It comes in 2 colors- Super Black and Deep Brown. It retails for PHP 895.
