When it comes to skincare, I’m very careful on what to include in my regimen. Whenever I try something new, I really take time to see if it actually works. I give room for my skin to adjust for about a week. Three to four weeks is probably a safe range before I can do a thorough review. And this is what exactly I’m going to do with Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery. In fact, I’m in for a 28-day challenge!
I, together with other beauty bloggers chosen by our dear friends from Kiehl’s, have to use Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Cream before going to sleep for 28 nights straight.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye has an active ingredient Butcher’s Broom, a root extract known to increase microcirculation, which when combined with other tried and true powerhouse oils helps to reduce puffiness and strengthen the delicate eye area overnight. Butcher’s Broom is used for centuries by old-world pharmacists. It’s high in bioflavonoids and is said to improve cutaneous microcircualation and reduce inflammation. Midnight Recovery Eye utilizes these properties of Butcher’s Broom to soothe and calm under eye skin to reduce morning puffiness. It also features Squalene, Evening Primrose and Lavander, a blend of oils which has a restructuring benefit that helps to reinforce the protective barrier and slow the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s paraben-free, fragrance-free, and mineral oil-free.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a powerful concentrate which was formulated to biologically replicate skin’s natural lipids for optimal skin repair during the night. It’s a potent elixir that is 99% naturally-derived and paraben-free. Other benefits include: visibly restores skin’s appearance by morning, replenishes depleted skin, instantly penetrates skin for smoother, more radiant complexion, and enriched with a blend of Omega 3, 6, 9.
Reading their benefits make me really excited! I have oily skin, so not all moisturizers and serums work for me. Some can be too moisturizing and uncomfortable. Some can even cause me to breakout. I also have few lines around the eye area and dark circles. Let’s see how effective Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye are on my skin.
I started using Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye last night (January 18, 2013), which I used together with my other current skincare- facial wash and Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic.
Here are my initial thoughts on my first (Day 1) use of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate:
- It has that oil-kind texture. It does look and feel like oil, but surprisingly, it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy when applied.
- It takes time for the concentrate to be absorbed by my skin.
- My face didn’t look like a frying pan when I woke up this morning. I honestly expected my face would be super oily in the morning.
- I didn’t notice any changes yet.
- No pimple and no allergic reactions.

I can’t wait for my 28th day!!! I’ll be documenting the results and my experience every now and then, so follow me in Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram too. The team from Kiehl’s will be looking after me as well. Be updated through their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
