Last Saturday, MAC celebrated World AIDS Day. For those who follow me on Instagram (@lush_angel), you probably know I was having a bazaar last weekend. But I couldn’t miss MAC’s event since it was for a good cause. From World Trade Center, I had to rush to MAC Glorietta to show my support to the brand’s amazing initiative.

MAC AIDS Fund is the heart and soul of MAC Cosmetics. It supports those who are affected by HIV/AIDS globally. To date, MAC Aids Fund has raised US $300 million exclusively through the sale of MAC VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipglass donating 100% of the sale price to fight HIV/AIDS.

In the Philippines, MAC AIDS Fund has partnered with non-sectarian organization “Positive Action Foundation Philippines Incorporated”. The joint venture formed the “Glam for Life” program, which aims to improve the quality of lives of infected Filipinos living in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao and Iloilo through direct nutritional and medical support services. This 3-year program aims to aid the recovery and ingrain the essential knowledge of infected individuals. During the event, MAC AIDS Fund committed PHP 2,494,000 for this cause.

Aside from this, they are also donating PHP 1 million from the local VIVA GLAM / MAC AIDS Fund to UNICEF to help the victims of the recent tragedy in Visayas. Also, an additional USD 100,000 was committed to support Medicins San Frontiers and Mercy Corps in the disaster relief response. Wow! It’s really amazing for a cosmetics company to be socially responsible too.
