Whenever I’d go out of the country, my first shopping stop would always be H&M. They’ve always got the latest fashion trends and the basics at affordable prices! Who would have thought H&M will finally be here in the Philippines?! Yes, FINALLY!!! For months now, I’ve been seeing the signages at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall. Oooh, those have been killing me! LOL! But two days ago, I was one of the lucky few to get a sneak peek at the H&M Open House. Oh dear, it’s now for real! They’re here to stay! 😀
Of course, I took tons of photos to excite all of you! LOL! The store opening will also be the launch of H&M’s Autumn 2014 collection. Here’s a sneak peek of the season’s look – a playful, sophisticated spirit of the 21st-century bohemian woman and a wardrobe of the modern mod, mixing Parisian cool with the attitude of London and sleekness of New York for the men.
For the women, there’s a comeback of the slip dress as a wardrobe staple. There are pieces adopted from menswear to add the sleekness of tailoring though blazers, or the attitude of leather biker jackets. A draped top with matching trousers is the new suit. Meanwhile, the exposed shoulder is a focus, both with off-the-shoulder and one shoulder looks. There’s also a new width in trousers, often trimmed with tuxedo details for night-time elegance.
For the fabrics, there are silk crepe, chiffon, leather, fake fur, velvet and cashmere.
Expect interesting details such as sequin and stone embroidery, laced knits, cord and grosgrain, asymmetric hems, and patchwork effects.
Colors of the season are black, navy, khaki, off-white, beige and grey with accents of bubblegum pink and bold zebra patterns.

Now for the men, the key garments of the season are wool coat, biker jacket, elongated bomber jacket, white shirt, check flannel shirt, reinvented crewneck, tailored trackpants, and leather trousers.
“This look is straight from the city – an urban silhoutette where the key details are in the pieces themselves. The zips of the biker jacket, the cut of the city coat, the stitching of the leather trousers all define the season,” says Andreas Lowenstam, H&M’s Head Menswear Designer.
There’s a strict color palette for the city, focused on black, greys and whites.
Of course, there’s also the kid’s section. What made me say “awww…”??? These…!!!
The price points? Well, you can get dresses at PHP 800 and sneakers at PHP 1,000. Did I just catch your attention?! 😀 LOL! Now, let’s all try to sit down, relax and wait for August 2014! 😀 Woohoo!!! 😀 Since that’s my birthday month and I’m turning a year older again, I guess this is the only good news that awaits me. LOL! 😀
