Most of us are quite familiar with Intense Pulsed Light or more commonly known as IPL, a hair removal treatment. Recently, I got the chance to try Strip’s IPL Ace. I actually finished my underarm IPL treatment eight years ago, so a booster session would be perfect! For those who are not aware, once you had IPL done on any part, it doesn’t mean the hair will never ever grow back. As long as you’re living, hair will keep on growing. Well, how we all wish the same can be said when it comes to our head/ scalp. Haha! Unfortunately, hairs just keep on sprouting on unwanted areas. But of course, once you’re done with your IPL sessions and some of your hairs decide to grow back, they’re definitely thinner (almost unnoticeable). You’ll only need booster sessions for maintenance, maybe once a year or sometimes after several years- in my case, after 8 long years!
What is IPL Ace?
IPL Ace is a lot different from the IPL I had. First, the machine that Strip uses for hair reduction is already an advanced IPL machine. You could just imagine the pain of my first IPL eight years ago, when the technology was new back then. Also, IPL Ace is a 2-in-1 treatment. The hair reduction treatment is followed by Strip’s V-blush treatment, which rejuvenates skin by stimulating collagen production resulting to smoother and lighter skin.

How does it work?

Number of sessions needed to see results
Hair reduction is usually around 6 to 8 sessions, depending on the amount of melanin present in the hair. This means, for those with blonde hair, more sessions may be needed.
Skin rejuvenation results can be seen after the first treatment and are more noticeable usually after 4 to 6 sessions.
IPL Ace Review
Probably one of your first concerns is the pain factor. Good news, it’s painless! A cool gel is applied on skin, making the heat emitted by the device almost non-existent! I felt the heat after a few passes, but the therapist kept on applying the gel to make me feel comfortable. To be honest, this is the most painless IPL treatment I’ve ever had!
After a few minutes, using the same machine, my therapist just changed the hand device for the V-blush treatment. It’s also painless, like the IPL. And surprisingly, in just one session, you can already see the difference- underarms lightened and smoothened. The skin became very soft and smooth to touch! Amazing! 😀
It only took me 15 minutes for the two treatments. It’s that quick! It’s perfect for on-the-go ladies and gents who want to squeeze in their treatments during lunch breaks. But it doesn’t mean it’s less effective. They have the advanced IPL machine that ONLY Strip has. Most IPL machines can only target dark hair, but Strip’s machine is also effective for light-colored hair. Those with blonde hair can now undergo hair-reduction.
Since I only need booster sessions every now and then, I’m thinking of continuing my V-blush treatment. I’m actually curious what happens at the end of the 6th session. 😉
