I have always been asked what actually happens in a facial treatment. Believe it or not, a lot of men and women have not tried it. Why do you need to get a facial treatment, anyway? There are several benefits such as: deep cleansing, anti-aging, skin rejuvenation, and treatment of various skin issues. There are different kinds of facial treatment, therefore choose what is best for your skin type or skin condition. Some treatments focus on specific skin issues as well so it is better to consult the dermatologist. But just to give you an idea before you enter in a facial center, here are the basic steps of a facial treatment.
Step 1: Cleanse
Therapist cleanses face with facial wash and water.
Step 2: Exfoliate
Next is the use of facial scrub to remove impurities and dead skin cells.
Step 3: Steam
Then, facial steamer is used for a few minutes to open up pores and loose up blackheads or whiteheads.
Step 4: Extraction
This is my favorite part of all, although some find this step a little painful. For me, it is a matter of finding a therapist with a light and gentle hand. In this step, therapist extracts all the blackheads and whiteheads. If there’s any pimple, she will prick and drain all the pus. She also injects an antibiotic afterwards. Some facial centers charge an additional fee per pimple injection. In Facial Care Centre though, this is already part of their Facial Treatments.
Step 5: Mask
For most facial centers, the mask used depends on your skin type. For example, at Facial Care Centre, they have various facial treatments depending on your skin concern. So if you are getting an anti-aging facial treatment, an anti-aging mask will be used.
This basic facial treatment lasts for about an hour. In the specific photos above, I got the Honey Almond Facial, which is good for oily skin, at Facial Care Centre. Note that some of the steps may vary in other clinics.
I used to avoid going out after a facial treatment because I always look like a red tomato afterwards. But ever since I have discovered RevLite at Facial Care Centre, I can now go straight from a facial treatment to an event or dinner even without makeup on. They do the RevLite treatment after the steps above and the face becomes instantly brighter! To know more about RevLite, I quickly explained it in this post: https://lushangel.com/2017/03/14/5-tips-get-glowing-skin/

So, do you think you are ready to try a facial treatment? I go to Facial Care Centre for my monthly treatment. You can visit any Facial Care Centre branch and ask about their available services.
