OMG! This is one of the most awaited trips of my life! LOL! Uh-huh… Imagine, someone who lives in Manila but have never ever landed in the beautiful shores of Boracay actually exists- and unfortunately that’s me! Talk about living lush-ciously, huh?! Hehehe! But hey, I’m surprised as well to know that I’m not all alone! In fact, there are a lot of Filipinos who haven’t been there- a lot of them I knew recently! Hahaha! A lot of tourists have been going in and out of the country to visit the famous beaches here in the Philippines, like Boracay, Cebu, Palawan, etc., but guess what?! I have never ever been in any of these. Yah, I know what a shame! Well, I have reasons- perfect reasons. Hehehe!
First, obviously, the great time to hit the beach is during summer. The problem- I’m never around every summer! Since my family and I are out of the country for our yearly vacation, I never had the chance to go on domestic trips and visit the beautiful beaches around the country. As much as I want to go, I usually get back from vacation around May, when the rain starts to pour. If I opt to go before I leave (around early March), beaches are not quite fun yet by that time- not too much people and not too hot to feel the summer heat (you know what I mean… hehehe)!
So probably you’re thinking why don’t we just do our family vacation in any of these fantastic places in the Philippines? The answer is simple- my parents hate the beach! They do not go to the beach, especially my mom. She is just not a “beach person”. She is not used to go out under the sun so she’d rather go to cold places. This is the reason why I grew up not longing to experience the sun, the sand, and the salty water. In fact, it was only around college when I learned to love the summer heat. To be honest, the first time I felt the sand on my feet, I didn’t like it at all! I clearly remember how annoyed I was! Yah, weird me! Good thing I was able to overcome that icky feeling in me. In fact, after that experience, I have been longing to get those tan lines. Hehe! Since I have always been fair, I have been hoping to get that tan at least every summer. Obviously, I’m not successful! If I did, it would only last for days, then back to my original color.
Now that I’m off to Boracay for the first time, you can probably feel how excited I am! At loooong last! Imagine, since February, my officemates and I have already listed some of the activities we are going to try- Paraw, Parasail, Banana Boat, Reef Walking, Fly Fish, and Jetski. Hehehe! This is definitely going to be an exciting 5 days vacation for us!!! Love it, love it, love it! Oh, and since this really spells V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N for me, expect scheduled posts for the rest of my vacation. I’ll be sharing my experience as soon as I get back! 🙂
Living Lush-ciously,
Lush Angel
i remember that icky feeling of sand too from childhood… but that’s before i felt the sand of boracay! it’s truly different. you won’t feel that icky feeling there. boracay’s sand is that golden fine sand that’s so soft… it was only when i loved to walk barefoot in the sand. hopefully it’s still the same and hopefully they managed to maintain it even with the numerous tourists going there each year. but be careful when the sun goes up, you should be wearing those flip flops coz they can burn your feet! the sand gets too hot! 🙂 enjoy! i’ll miss my chatmate and our playmate. hehehe
omg! The sand is still the same… Very fine, close to powder! Love it!!!
Geeesh! It’s 5:30am already here and we just got back. First night palang, bar hopping na! I love the night life! It’s like embassy is here 🙂 hehehe 🙂 naku, oo nga tagal ng vacation ko. Mamimiss ko sessions natin! Hehehe 🙂 hay! Will email you agad when i get back! 🙂
yay! i’m happy the sand is still the same. you got the perfect description – close to powder! awww… miss it. 🙂 yah, bar hopping talga super fun! anyway, enjoy! 🙂
by the way cris, we went to the beach lunch time kanina and the sand isn’t hot 🙂 according to tel, my officemate, parang the sun light just bounces pag white sand. Hehehe! Kaya super aliw ako! Ang cold ksi tlga ng sand. 🙂
ah talga? that’s good. baka super init lang talga nung one time that we were there. di naman sobra but it’s hot na rin ng konti. 🙂 siguro namumula na kayo noh? hehe. anyway, enjoy enjoy!!!
naku nagbeach kami lunch time pero walang nangyari! parang nagbobounce lang rin sa akin ang sun! Hahaha! 🙂
i haven’t been to boracay myself…
