When did you get your iPhone 4?

My Fashion Juice: last October 16

What was your previous phone?

My Fashion Juice: iPhone 3GS 16GB in white

Lush Angel: BlackBerry Curve 8520 a.k.a. BlackBerry Gemini

What prompted you to buy the new iPhone 4?

My Fashion Juice: I had no intention of changing my phone since it hasn’t been a year since I got my iPhone 3GS. However, when Lush Angel asked me if I wanted to sell my phone (because her sister is looking for a 3GS), I didn’t think twice. I can use her payment and add a couple of bucks to get a new iPhone. For just a couple of bucks, I got the better-featured one, the iPhone 4!

Lush Angel: I just got my BlackBerry last December so I really had no plans of getting a new phone. Unfortunately, my phone got lost when I went to Bangkok last July. I was drooling over all the nice dresses left and right, until I had to pay for my purchases and realized that my phone’s gone. 🙁 It was a hard choice between a BlackBerry Bold 9700 and an iPhone 4. I just thought that since my previous phone was already a BlackBerry, why not try iPhone this time. Anyway, for the 6 months I had that BlackBerry, I wasn’t able to fully utilize all my BB’s features.

How is the iPhone 4 compared to your old phone?

My Fashion Juice: Way better of course. Better display and better camera. Plus the two cameras that you can easily switch for taking photos or for video calling is awesome.

Lush Angel: Definitely a lot better! Surfing the internet is easier using the iPhone. There’s no need to use the optical trackpad to scroll up, down, left or right. Plus, having a bigger screen makes my internet surfing more enjoyable! The processor is also faster. For the few days I’ve used my iPhone, I noticed how it responds so quickly, without any delay or lag time.

How was the buying process?

My Fashion Juice: Since it has already been out a few months in the US, there was no wait and it was super easy to get. I was actually in a rush to get the iPhone 4 because I was sending my iPhone 3gS to the Philippines that week through my dear friend Deejay (thank you) and because Lush Angel’s sister had already paid for it. So that weekend while I was having a yard sale with friends, Hubby was so excited to head to the nearest AT&T. After like half an hour or so, he came back with my new iPhone 4! 🙂 Even better, I earned a lot that yard sale that it’s like I got my phone for free and still had a couple more bucks to spend! Weeee!!!

Lush Angel: It’s definitely not easy to get an iPhone 4 here in the Philippines! Well, if you get from the gray market, probably it is, but it’s way more expensive! I got mine from Globe Telecom, the service provider here in the Philippines carrying iPhone 4. Around 1st week of October, I already reserved a unit online. Last October 12, I received a text message from Globe that the iPhone 4 is already available and that I can pick it up on October 14. The day came and I went to the Globe outlet near my place right after lunch. Guess what?! All stocks were gone! Oh and take note, they opened at 11am so after 2 hours, all iPhones were wiped out! I tried to go to other branches as well, but no luck still! 🙁 After 2 weeks, I received a call from a Globe Telecom branch saying that my unit is already there and I should be getting it on that same day before the store closes. Supposedly, it wouldn’t be a problem since that branch is just a few steps away from my pad. But hello, I was in Boracay that time and they did not want to reserve the phone until I come back!!! What do they want me to do?! Teleport from Boracay to Manila?! And so that night, I ended up asking someone to get the phone. I also had to rush to a Globe Telecom branch in Boracay to sign some papers and have them email the contract to the branch in Manila. Imagine, I was relaxing at Shangri-la Boracay that time and I had to cut it short just to submit the requirements! Oooh, all for the love of iPhone 4! 😀 Well, it’s worth it! 😀

What is/are your favorite feature/s?

My Fashion Juice: I would have to say video calling – whether it’s via FaceTime or via Yahoo Messenger’s video chat! Now, I can call my Mom and Dad via YM video chat wherever I am. My old iPhone 3GS doesn’t allow video chatting in Yahoo Messenger. Now, I think I need to give them the new iPod Touch so I can call them anytime even if their laptop is turned off. Of course, FaceTime allows me to call and see my dear friends, such as Lush Angel and Carla, even if they’re on the other side of the world. 🙂

Lush Angel: I really love iPhone 4’s FaceTime feature! I can now call my friends abroad, like MFJ, anytime and anywhere I like! I don’t have to carry my laptop anymore just to see them through webcam. Oooh, and I guess this feature can be of good use when shopping alone. Now, you can call your friends who have FaceTime to ask opinions for those times you can’t decide what to buy! No need to MMS pictures! Your friends get to see the items live while talking them! Cool! 😀 Perfect when you have shopping dilemma, eh?! LOL! 😀 I also love the Retina Display of the iPhone 4. The images are really sharp and vibrant. Its display is totally different from other phones, or even previous iPhone models.

Favorite App/s?

My Fashion Juice: There’s just too many awesome apps out there. But I would have to say that the Yahoo Messenger app for iPhone 4 is my fave. Being able to call my parents wherever I am is very important to me. My Mom and I video-chat everyday except on weekends (since we’re both out). But when I’m out during a week day, we’re not able to talk. Now, even when I’m in the car or out of the house, I can call and see her. 🙂 I also love the Facebook and WordPress app only because I am able to blog live and update my dear readers anywhere I am in an instant!

Lush Angel: What I love about iPhone is that there are numerous applications available for download. I am now connected to everyone anytime I want through Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo Messenger. Best of all, my fashion apps keep the fashionista inside of me satisfied (or rather crave for more). Hehe! I now have a virtual ticket to the fashion shows of my fave designers through Style.com. I can also “window shop” anytime I want through ShopStyle. iPhone is like fashion right on your fingertips! 😀
