It has been a Chinese custom to wear red and gold on New Year’s day. As I mentioned in this post, RED is for happiness, while GOLD is for wealth. And so for genuine happiness and for wealth to keep on flowing this year of the rabbit, I wore this on our new year’s day dinner yesterday. 😀

It’s a red kimono dress from a past collection of K.A.T. I love how the sleeves were made. It starts wide, then narrows at the end, unlike other kimono dresses with wide sleeves all the way. Because of the narrow ends, I can opt to push the sleeves upward to get that crumpled/ puffed effect.

Since gold symbolizes wealth, I loaded myself with gold accessories! LOL! 😀 I wore a vintage Givenchy chain necklace from mom, gold bangles, gold watch and gold diamond stud earrings. I really made sure all my accessories were gold. LOL! 😀 Well, I think it blended well with the red dress and brown belt and shoes.

Since it was Chinese new year, I thought of going for a high bun this time for a more chinese look. Hehe! 😀

And of course, new bag for the new year! Haha! 😀 I firmly believe that this bag would bring me good luck for the year ahead! 😀 It also blended well with the outfit since I used yellow gold accessories.
