Dove is one brand that’s very close to my heart. Aside from being a real fan of their products, my family and some friends would probably know why. π
Dove has been known here in the Philippines for their skin care, but in a lot of countries, the brand is also recognized for their hair care.
I first had a chance to try Dove’s shampoo and conditioner 2 years ago when it was launched in China. I was surprised how a “regular” shampoo and conditioner manage to keep my hair soft and shiny the entire day. By “regular” I mean, consumer goods that can easily be bought in grocery stores and not a salon-specialized product. Considering I have chemically treated hair, it’s really amazing how Dove hair care can make my locks smooth and healthy. You’ll probably understand why I’m reacting this way when I tell you this… Do you know that after almost 10 years it was only last September 2011 that I dyed my hair black?! I started in dark browns since I wasn’t allowed to have colored hair back in high school. Afterwards, I went for shades of red, brown, blonde, until I tried 3-4 colors of highlights. Yes, I do all sorts of things on my hair, which is probably the reason why not all shampoos, conditioners and treatments work for me. Oh, and add to the possible hair damage is my love for the beach and go surfing. I’m really blessed that my hair is still healthy! Thank God! π
One brand that really works for my hair is Dove. Finally, it’s now launched here in the Philippines! It’s about time!!! Yay! π Now, I won’t have to buy abroad just to get hold of bottles of their shampoos and conditioners. π Seriously, you’ve got to try it! I personally use Damage Therapy Intense Repair, which is just perfect for my lifestyle. π
What do you think of the smell of Dove’s hair care line?
I’m not sure if Dove’s hair care line here in the Philippines has exactly the same formulation from other countries (I hope so). The one I’m using right now are bottles from the U.S.and smelling it from the bottle, it’s like cream/ lotion. But once my hair is dry, I can barely smell anything. There may be a very, very slight scent, but it’s not bad at all. I personally like shampoos or conditioners with either really good scent or doesn’t smell anything at all. I like how Dove doesn’t over power my perfume. From the smell of it, it’s really mild. π
I think the smell of Dove shampoo in the Philippines is very different from the Dove shampoo abroad. My aunt from japan and Korea used to send me Dove shampoos and they are so good. I think the one that they released here is same as the LUX shampoo before.
is straight and silky something like a perm
Hi odessa, nope. It’s more for dry and rough hair. It’s said to make the texture of the hair silkier and straighter. Take note though that it’s not really a straightening shampoo. It’s more of an effect of the silky texture since you’ll have less rebellious hair. π
