Whenever I want some “me” time or bonding session with my girl friends, a nail salon would be my go-to place. It’s my relaxation sanctuary, which is why ambiance is very important to me. Recently, I discovered this relatively new nail salon in Makati City.
It’s conveniently located along EDSA Makati, corner Arnaiz Avenue (inside Petron gas station). Parking can be quite limited, but it’s free of charge.
I love the interior of this nail spa. The dimmed yellow lights and mellow music allow clients to relax.
The choice of furnitures is not your ordinary couch. Colors and designs are not gender-biased. Husbands, boyfriends and brothers wouldn’t mind lounging in here. In fact, I heard they have quite good number of regular male clients!
And so, I wasted no time! Here I am deciding on what to do with my nails…
My dear friend, Kristel, joined me in my pampering session on a Monday afternoon. It was non-stop chikahan, as always! Take note, we talk almost everyday! Haha!
I had a super relaxing foot spa with pedicure (PHP 550). I love how soft my feet felt after. 😀
I chose a cutesy lilac shade for my toes. Ahhh… I can’t wait for summer!!! 😀
For my mani, I tried Orly gel polish.
When it comes to choice of colors and durability, Orly gel polish is pretty much the same as those that I’ve tried. There’s a variety of shades to choose from and it can also last for about 2 weeks, without chipping. The difference? Orly uses LED light for drying instead of the usual UV light, which can be harmful to the skin.
Kristel and I accidentally chose the same color- shimmery gold!
For every coat on each fingernail, I was asked to place my hand inside the machine. The entire process of gel polish with mani (PHP 600) took them about 1.5 hours.
And here’s my lovely gel mani after… so clean and so elegant! 😀
