I used to think that a pair of sneakers can never be my best friend whenever I travel. Most of the time, I get blisters when I wear sneakers for too long. Well, well, well… I found THE ONE- a pair that’s comfortable to wear even for long walks (and even without socks)! I’m talking about Bensimon, which I got from Common Thread during its launch here in the Philippines.

I tried and tested it during my last trip to Europe, which entailed a lot of walking. I was surprised how comfy my pair of Bensimon is! I promised myself to get neutral colors for my next trips. I’m a traveller who pack light. If I can bring just one pair of shoes, I would.

So, when I got an invite to Common Thread’s Bensimon DIY event, I immediately said yes! I was excited, at the same time, scared! I’m not the type who loves to DIY. I try once in a while, but it’s not something I would do all the time. Well, as much as I want to, I admit, I’m not that artistic. Haha! So, just the thought that I have to DIY my Bensimon pair freaked me out! I didn’t want to mess up such a perfect pair. Obviously, my jaw dropped when I entered Common Thread in Rockwell and saw this working table…

Look at the Pats! They’re both being artistic and unique with their Bensimon pairs! Oh, in case you haven’t seen Patty’s photos from her recent trips, she has been wearing her Bensimon in her travels too. See, I told you they’re really comfy! 😀

From all the choices of materials such as paint, markers, bleach, glue, ribbons, markers, etc., I decided to add beads to my pair of white sneaks.

It was really scary at first. I wasn’t sure where to insert the needle. But once you’ve started, you’ll actually get the hang of it. You’ll get more ideas on what to do and what to add. If I had more time, I probably splattered paint on it! 😀

I ended up with a feminine and glam pair of sneakers. Well, that’s what I would call it. Haha! 😀

Thanks again to Bensimon Philippines and to Common Thread for this opportunity! Can’t wait to bring my new pair to my next adventures! 😀

Oh, and to Bensimon fans out there like me, more styles are coming in the next months- choose from a revamped classic with colored soles, elastic styles, various prints and more creative fabrics. I can’t wait!!! 😀
