A few years back, I used to think that Fitflop is a footwear brand for moms. I’m sure some of you had the same impression. Well, my mom and my aunt are avid fans. They never ever go out of a Fitflop store with just one pair. But now, let me change that notion to: a footwear brand for the superwomen. And yes, I, together with my friends, Nikki and Jackie are part of those superwomen!

I have to admit, I rarely go out wearing heels these days, unless I really need to dress up. I normally have a full day – working at the office, going from one place to another, running errands, etc. Therefore, when it comes to footwear, comfort is very important to me. But of course, comfort and style must always go hand in hand. I’m sure these superwomen beside me would agree with me. With our super busy schedule, the least we would want is be called “unfashionable superwomen”.

A few weeks ago, we visited the 9th free-standing store of Fitflop located at Bonifacio Global City. Guess what? Fitflop now has a full range of collections from basic and neutral slip-ons to stylish and more trendier silhouettes. I told you it’s a footwear for the superwomen!

Fitflop’s Spring Summer 2015 collection is definitely stylish without sacrificing comfort. There’s the Petra thoe-tong sandals, which feature soft snake textile upper decorated with three mirrored jewels atop its slimline straps. The jewels made the sandals really glamorous, yet very comfortable. Petra is great for long walks since it’s made lightweight, ergonomic, and pressure-diffusing with FitFlop’s original Microwobbleboard midsole technology.

Oh, and there are a lot more designs, styles, and colors to choose from…

And for those who like a slender silhouette, there’s the Skinny. It is also stamped with the American Podiatric Medical Association’s Seal of Acceptance for promoting good foot health, making it chic and functional at the same time.

And if you can’t get enough of denims, there’s also the Denim Skinny. I can already imagine pairing it with almost anything!

I think the three of us had a hard time picking a pair. Here are just some of my picks.

Mandals are on trend right now. In fact, it’s my staple footwear on casual days. I was really close to getting this silver sandals.

I had a hard time choosing from the Skinny collection because I love them all! The silhouette looks perfect on my feet. I think my next pair of FitFlop would be from this style.

And for those who do not know, Fitflop also has flats – and they are as comfortable as the sandals.

Funny because we ended up having similar choices!

I decided on getting the Superjelly since I can wear it both around the city and on beach trips. I wanted to wear something more fashionable by the beach than just plain slippers. The Superjelly collection is made of rubber, which means it can get wet. It also has FitFlop’s Microwobbleboard midsole technology – an ergonomic, pressure-diffusing, and ultra-comfy layer of cush.

See, I was able to break it in last weekend!

Also, since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, FitFlop has partnered with ICanServe Foundation to educate and empower women to be more conscious of breast care.

Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala, an award winning journalist, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997. She knew little about the disease then, but she was able to beat breast cancer eventually. This prompted her to start ICanServe Foundation. It’s a non-stock, non-profit organization that advocates and provides hope to women that breast cancer is highly curable with early detection and widespread information.

During the event last October 15, 2015 at FitFlop Bonifactio High Street Central, ICanServe Foundation’s vice-president and two-time breast cancer survivor, Nikoy de Guzman shared her inspirational story about her experience and struggles with breast cancer. To further highlight the importance of this awareness campaign, celebrities who have successfully battled the disease participated in the event as well.

FitFlop, being a company that stands for the empowerment of women, specially created the FLOWERSURFA for Southeast Asia with the breast cancer advocacy in mind. The dainty red and pink flowers adorning the sandals make a statement – that there is beauty in strenght, superwomen are standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow strong women who are spreading the word on breast health care, and in doing so, help save lives. FitFlop will be donating 20% of the sales of their FLOWERSURFA sandals to ICanServe Foundation for the entire month of October.
