I’ve always wished I have my own professional makeup artist to glam me up everyday. Well, well, well… I think my dream has (sort of) come true. Happy Skin wants us to get that “celebrity makeup experience” as they launched Happy Skin Glam Squad Collection, a full line of beginner-friendly, yet pro-level makeup products that were developed together with Filipino makeup masters Juan Sarte, Denise Go-Ochoa, Mickey See, and Jigs Mayuga.

Juan Sarte, Denise Go-Ochoa, Mickey See, and Jigs Mayuga carefully developed and customized the Happy Skin Arch Definer & Brow Mascara (a double-ended pencil and mascara pen that comes in two shades – light brown and medium brown), the Happy Skin Glam Squad Contour & Color (a taupe contour powder and a rosy-coral blush powder), and the Happy Skin Glam Squad Custom Brush Set (contains powder, angled flat top, eyeshadow/concealer, crease, eyeshadow blending, and lip brushes). Each makeup artist also created their own Happy Skin Glam Squad Liquid Matte Lipstick and Happy Skin Glam Squad Eyeshadow Duo to bring to life four unique looks: modern, fresh, blushing, and bold.

Juan Sarte Modern Look Happy Skin Glam Squad Collection
Juan Sarte, known for his precise, detail-oriented makeup application, has 22 years of experience under his belt. He brings to life the modern look with his choice of bronze and champagne eyeshadows, the two shades he can’t live without – a neutral shade and a highlight shade both in shimmery texture to make it easy to blend, and a universal mauve liquid lipstick- a color that can stain the lips for a just-bitten effect or use it full for a chic and glamorous look.
Denise Go-Ochoa Fresh Look Happy Skin Glam Squad Collection
Since 1999, Denise has been specializing in the fresh look. Taking inspiration from her trademark, she went with matte caramel and satin-finish medium brown eyeshadows, which works well with anyone, and a naked peach liquid lipstick, for the classic nude lips but with a subtle peach shade for a fresh look.
I, together with Nikki Tiu and Jackie Go, were able to do an exclusive interview with Denise. Here are some tips she shared with us.
- Skin care is very important. With good skin, you’ll look fresh and you’ll need less makeup.
- Her ultimate favorite among the Happy Skin products is the Don’t Get Mad Get Even Foundation (liquid and powder).
- To avoid caking of foundation and to look fresh, start with less products – less layering and thin layer of foundation since you’ll be retouching throughout the day. Remember, the more products you put on your face, the more it will cake. Therefore, find the makeup product that will only need one layer to apply.
- For those with very chapped lips, skip matte lipsticks. Denise uses tinted lip balm instead.
- For everyday fresh makeup look, these are her must-have products: foundation, concealer, mascara, and lip color.
Mickey See Blushing Look Happy Skin Glam Squad Collection
Mickey See has been dolling up celebrities and brides for the past 12 years. With a bride-to-be in mind, he decided on bringing out a blushing look with his choice of shimmery peach and matte light brown eyeshadows, which can also double as highlighter and as contour powders, and a deep blush liquid lipstick, a pinker shade for a more youthful color.

Having been a makeup artist and a makeup guru for 12 years, Jigs understands how trends empower, which is why he decided on a bold look with matte brown and matte black eyeshadows, shades that can transition from day to night, and a rose-brown liquid lipstick.
