A few weeks ago, M.A.C. Philippines launched the It’s A Strike! collection at SM Megamall. It’s a unique collection with a mix of fun colors and neutrals.
As always, M.A.C.’s set-up during the launch was sooo cool!
Head straight to the fast lane and have a ball with M.A.C. It’s A Strike! a range of lipstick and cremesheen glass is racked in red. Rich eye shadow and fluidline pen shades will have everyone begging to join your league, while easy hues of casual colour are right up anyone’s alley. Practice a clean follow-through with three creamy colours of M.A.C. studio nail lacquer. Finally, knock them all down with the luminous allure of new pearlmatte face powder.

L-R: Baby Split sheer lime green; Rack ‘Em Up cool deep khaki (cream); 5 Pin deep wine (cream)
M.A.C. It’s A Strike!: Pearl Matte Face Powder

This is probably one of my favorites from the collection. Aside from the cute bowling pin, which can be quite heartbreaking to dip the brush onto the pan, the color is really gorgeous on the skin!
Trophy multi-colour (pearlmatte)
M.A.C. It’s A Strike!: Cream Blush
PHP 1,450
Blind Score dirty reddish lilac and Have A Lovely Day! neutral nude
I’d say Blind Score is even more perfect at night because the color really pops out. If you love natural-looking makeup, go for Have A Lovely Day!
M.A.C. It’s A Strike!: Lipstick

Most of the lippie shades in this collection are on the bright or dark side, as seen below.
L – R: All Fired Up bright fuchsia matte (retro matte); Perfect Score deep red (matte); Babes and Balls deep burgandy (matte); Flat Out Fabulous bright plum matte (retro matte); Honeylove light beige toned with rose (matte)
M.A.C. It’s A Strike!: Cremesheen Glass
PHP 1,350
If you’re not into lipgloss, you might change your mind when you try the cremesheen glass. To be honest, I’m not really into lipgloss, but when I tried King Pin, the deep chocolate mauve shade, I changed my mind. The gloss is really pigmented and it doesn’t fade easily!
L – R: Right Up My Alley deep red; King Pin deep chocolate mauve; It’s A Strike soft nude; Throw A Spare fuchsia with pearl; Spare Me dark purple
M.A.C. It’s A Strike!: Fluidline Pen
PHP 1,300
L – R: Vintage Brown deep dark brown; Indelibly Blue deep navy blue; Retro Black
M.A.C. It’s A Strike!: Eye Shadow
PHP 1,050
There are a lot of interesting neutral shades in this collection. I personally love Bowl Out (mid-tone grey), 300 Game (blackened cherry), Join My League? (dark espresso), and Bowlarama (bright lime green).
L – R: 300 Game blackened cherry (matte); Bowlarama bright lime green (satin); Bowl Out mid-tone grey (matte); Gutter Gal off-white grey (matte); Join My League? dark espresso (matte) Carbon intense black (matte)
M.A.C. It’s A Strike!: Brush
116 blush (PHP 2,350)
213 fluff (PHP 1,600)
Of course, I didn’t leave without trying out the collection. Here are the products used on my face (except for the lippie since she used King Pin Cremesheen Glass).
She mostly used neutrals on my lids and applied the lime green eye shadow on the inner corners of my eyes – an interesting idea for those who are afraid to use bright colored eye shadows.
No doubt, I love neutrals when it comes to eye shadows, but having that pop of green isn’t bad at all. It’s not overpowering, making it wearable even for day makeup. What do you think?
M.A.C. It’s A Strike! collection is already available in all M.A.C. counters.
