Who would have thought that the young and hip eyewear brand, Sunnies Studios, would enter into the world of makeup? Recently, they launched Sunnies Face and it took the Internet by storm. As their first product line, they released the Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipstick, which sold out in just 15 minutes after they launched their online website. Not only that, people were queuing for hours at their newly opened stores in UP Town Center and Glorietta with limited purchase of up to 3 pieces per customer! Whoa! Is the hype real??? Let me share my full review + swatches of the Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipsticks.
Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipstick Product Information
a weightless modern matte lipstick
Pros: Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipstick
- It has nice off-white packaging—doesn’t feel cheap.
- It glides on like butter.
- It has great color payoff—you just need 1-2 layers.
- It comes in 9 shades. My personal favorites are Nudist, Milkshake and Baked.
- It has matte, powdery finish that feels like cloud on the lips.
- It is not drying even when worn the whole day.
- No fragrance.
- It can be used as a multistick—lipstick, eye shadow, and blush. When used as an eye shadow or blush, Fluffmatte blends easily.
- It is affordable for only PHP 345.
Cons: Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipstick
- It is not completely weightless. It is a matte lipstick so you can still feel you have something on BUT not really bothersome. I think the powdery texture makes it feel comfortable on the lips.
- It is not transfer-proof.
- It has “okay” staying power. It stays if I don’t eat or drink, but I’ll definitely have to retouch after a meal. It leaves a nice stain though so it doesn’t look so bad when it fades.
- As an eye shadow, it creases on my oily lids in just 3 hours.
- It fades quickly when used as a blush.
- Although it is not drying, it can accentuate dry areas. Therefore, it is important to moisturize and exfoliate first if you have dry lips.
Tips on Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipstick
- If you have dry lips, prep lips by moisturizing and exfoliating first to prevent patchy application.
- If you’re not into heavy coverage lipstick, you can also use Fluffmatte as a stain on your lips.
Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipstick Verdict
I wouldn’t use it as a multistick since it creases on my oily lids and fades easily on my cheeks. This could probably work for those with normal to dry skin. BUT I like it as a lipstick. If you’re looking for an affordable lipstick that doesn’t feel waxy with heavy pigmentation and if you don’t mind reapplying, then this is for you. The powdery texture and cloud-like feel is a winner. Despite some cons, you still get your money’s worth. And a matte lipstick that’s not drying? It’s not something you can easily get for PHP 345.

wearing Milkshake
wearing Baked (This shade really surprised me! Judging from the tube, I thought it wouldn’t suit me. Turns out to be one of my favorites after trying it.)
wearing Nudist– I like how this shade of nude doesn’t wash out my face!
wearing Nudist as an eye shadow (I like this shade as an eye shadow but, as said earlier, it creases easily on my super oily lids. But if I’ll be out for just two hours, I could use this!)
wearing 143
