Let me share with you the differences, the swatches, and my thoughts.
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color Collection: Luxe Lip Color
Of course, the lipstick that started it all, Luxe Lip Color, is part of the collection. This delivers maximum coverage even in just one swipe. It is very moisturizing and it does not dry out the lips even when worn the entire day. It leaves a nice sheen, reducing the appearance of lip lines. Luxe Lip Color has been one of my favorite lipsticks, without a doubt!
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color Collection: Luxe Matte Lip Color
Now for the matte finish lovers, the collection now has Luxe Matte Lip Color. It is not your ordinary matte lipstick. It has oil-infused powders that deliver feather-light feel. It also has vibrant color payoff.
It promises 12-hour wear, but in my experience, it lasts for about 5 hours. I would not say it has a dragging texture, but I need a little more pressure as I glide the lipstick across my lips. It feels like I’m gliding some powder. I’m not really bothered by it, especially because it feels like super soft powder on my lips. It really is feather-light! Note though that super light shades can accentuate lip lines and dry lips. Therefore, it is very important to exfoliate when you opt for light shades. On the other hand, medium to dark shades look smoother on the lips.

Here I’m wearing one of my fave shades, Tawny Pink. As you can see in the photo below, lip lines are less obvious even if it is not a dark shade.
Below, I’m wearing Nude Reality. This shade suits me perfectly, if I may say. In fact, I get a lot of compliments and inquiries when I wear this lipstick. My only problem is that my lip lines are more obvious. But since I love the shade and the comfort of this matte lipstick, I just make sure to exfoliate and moisturize before gliding this lip color.
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color Collection: Luxe Liquid Lip High Shine
The Luxe Lip Color Collection includes liquid lipsticks. Luxe Liquid Lip High Shine delivers a sculpted light-reflective look. Voluptuous shine combines with a lightweight feel for lips drenched in a liquid glow and high-impact color payoff that wears beautifully. Lips look and feel very moisturized.

Of course, liquid lipsticks must come in matte finish too. The Luxe Liquid Lip Velvet Matte has fluid powder pigments derived from natural clay minerals and blended with Wild Mango extract, known for its softening properties, for creamy, smooth application that dries matte.

In my experience, Luxe Liquid Lip Velvet Matte feels velvet-soft on the lips. It is like dried clay but lightweight. I find it even more long-wearing than the Luxe Matte Lip Color. Also, it has great color payoff– I only need one swipe to do the swatches above.

Now, which one is for you?
If you’re after moisture and comfort, I’d still suggest you go for the original Luxe Lip Color.
If you’re into matte-finish formulas, you can either go for Luxe Matte Lip Color and Luxe Liquid Lip Velvet Matte. Personally, I find Luxe Matte Lip Color more comfortable and lighter. But if you’re after long-wearing matte lip color, go for Luxe Liquid Lip Velvet Matte.
I’m not into liquid lip high shine in general. My problem with liquid lip high shine is when I go outdoors and it gets windy, my hair touches my lips and I get traces of lip color all over my face. But if you’re always indoors and you like voluptuous, young-looking lips try Luxe Liquid Lip High Shine.
