After using Shiseido Ibuki Purifying Cleanser, Softening Concentrate, Refining Moisturizer Enriched, and Eye Correcting Cream every morning and night for one whole month, finally here’s my Shiseido Ibuki Skincare review. Does it live up to its promise as I’ve shared in my What Makes Shiseido Ibuki Skincare Different post? Read on.
Shiseido Ibuki Purifying Cleanser
PHP 1,495 for 125ml
No doubt, I would consider Shiseido Ibuki Purifying Cleanser as my favorite in this skincare line. A creamy facial wash does not usually work on my oily skin, but this one did! It leaves my skin squeaky clean without the feeling of dryness. For my detailed thoughts about this product, head on to my Shiseido Ibuki Purifying Cleanser Review.
Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate
PHP 1,600 for 75ml
“A concentrated softener that penetrates quickly and deeply into the skin’ surface. Building the skin’s resistance to problems by filling it with moisture, this comfortably rich formula also enhances the effects of additional skin care steps.”
Shiseido skincare doesn’t have toner as they believe it can strip off natural oil. Shiseido’s softners are their version of toners. They are used all over the face after cleansing. It’s also like a serum that helps in the absorption of the moisturizer to be applied after.
Shisedio Ibuki Softening Concentrate has a rich formula, yet is absorbed quickly by my skin. It doesn’t feel sticky nor greasy. It gives instant boost of moisture to the skin, which dry-skinned individuals would surely love. Since I have oily skin, I make sure to use just the right amount of product for my entire face, especially in the morning. I refrain from overly-applying as I might oil up too much during the day. I honestly feel my Shiseido Ibuki regimen isn’t complete without this. I can skip the moisturizer in the morning, but not this!
Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched
PHP 1,950 for 50ml
A multi-functional moisturizing cream that fundamentally improves visible pores, the appearance of breakouts/ blemish marks and skin roughness caused by dryness, and maintains moisture all day long. By filling the skin with moisture, it builds resistance to problems, and creates a smoother, more refined skin texture.
Shiseido Ibuki line has 3 moisturizers: Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer, Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched, and Shiseido Ibuki Protective Moisturizer SPF 15. The latter is more of a day moisturizer because of the SPF, while the first two can be used for both day and night. Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer has a more watery formula and lighter texture compared to Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched. For oily-skinned individuals, Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer is for you. I find Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched too thick, which would be better for those with dry skin. It takes a little bit more time to be absorbed by my skin. When using it during the day, I make sure to use small amount only.
Shiseido Ibuki Eye Correcting Cream
PHP 1,800 for 15ml
A cooling eye cream that addresses dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. Eyes become instantly more vibrant. Helps the appearance of eye area achieve resistance to stress factors resulting from the lack of sleep.
Shiseido Ibuki Eye Correcting Cream feels cool once applied, which makes it very relaxing. It can instantly brighten the eye area. It doesn’t feel heavy or sticky at all and it’s easily absorbed by the skin. It’s a nice light moisturizer underneath the concealer. This may not be enough though for those with really dry undereye area.
Shiseido Ibuki Skincare Verdict
First of all, I’d like to talk about the price points. I was surprised when I saw the prices of Shiseido Ibuki. Shiseido skincare can be really pricey, but I personally think this line is priced perfectly for the age group it targets, which is 25 to 34 years old. Now, for the effects it has done to my skin… At first use, my skin felt soft and smooth immediately. During the first week, I already noticed my plumpy skin. I didn’t like it at first as I feel my face looks fatter than usual. Haha! But then I realized, it makes me look younger! 😀 After a month of use, some people whom I haven’t met for quite a while noticed the change. They couldn’t help but ask the skincare I’m using (and even ended up buying the entire range). They said my skin looks even smoother than before. I also love that I didn’t experience any purging phase. I didn’t breakout at all. If there are things I’d like to change in this regimen: First, I’d use Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer instead of the Enriched version. Also, I’d go for a more intensive eye cream especially for night use. Now, for those with oily skin like me, I use the softner and moisturizer in moderation. I also apply lesser amount in the morning to make sure I won’t oil up too much. Overall, I’m truly amazed on what the entire Shiseido Ibuki Skincare line has done to my skin. 😀

Saw you in person and i must say that your skin really is flawless! I want to try the cleanser, but don’t want to splurge on the full size yet. Wish it comes in trial size, para kahit anu effect on my skin no regrets right lol
