Jo Malone Launches In Manila + Prices

The long wait is over. Jo Malone London finally launches in Manila.

The moment I got an invite to the press preview of Jo Malone, I had to cancel everything on my plate. Who would say no to Jo Malone?! My heart flutters to be surrounded with these cream and black boxes!!!

Debbie Wild, Jo Malone London Global Lifestyle Director, was present during the preview launch and she really did build up the excitement of everyone in the venue. She explained that all Jo Malone fragrances start with a story and bring back memories. Scents can make us reminisce a walk down the beach, a proposal by a vase of roses, and the like. We even associate a person to a scent. In fact, I just did that to my seatmate, Nicole Romero, during the luncheon. She asked my opinion about the Jo Malone fragrance on her wrist and I said, “Oh, that’s so you!” I’m pretty sure some of you have had those moments too. And this is actually the signature of Jo Malone.

Jo Malone aims that we find our own unique scent from their 26 fragrances. Jo Malone is divided into different collections – Fruity, Citrus, Floral, Light Floral, Spicy, and Woody. Under each collection is the British bespoke fragrances – crafted from the highest quality ingredients, tailor made and exquisitely simple but always unexpected.

Fans of the brand do not just love the fragrances. Jo Malone also have Bath & Body, like bath and hand washes, dry body oils, body cremes, lotions, etc., and Home scents like candles, room sprays, and diffusers. If you still remember, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, requested scenting Westminster Abbey with her favorite Jo Malone Orange Blossom candles for her wedding.

What makes Jo Malone unique?

For those who are new to the brand, you may wonder what’s the buzz all about. These unisex scents (yes, they are perfect for both men and women) were designed to be worn alone or combine with other scents in the collections. By layering different fragrances, you’re able to create your own signature scent. This is known as “Fragrance combining”, Debbie said. You style your own fragrance and treat it as part of your everyday accessory!

But what if you and your friend choose the same Jo Malone cologne? How can that be unique? Debbie also explained that the same fragrance smells unique on different people because of our acidity levels. The reaction of a specific scent on our acidity and body oils can differ on each of us.

The secret on how to make the fragrance last

You just spritz on your cologne, but you can barely smell anything after a few hours. Debbie gave a tip on how to make fragrance last. She suggests lathering on Jo Malone body creme first, then applying the fragrance on top. This way, the fragrance can hold on to something, which can help last all day.

Jo Malone body cremes, like their other bath and body products, come in different scents too. Combining different scents of body creme and fragrance can also result to your own signature scent.

Choosing from 26 fragrances can be a bit overwhelming. Let me give you some suggestions.

Lime Basil & Mandarin is Jo Malone’s signature fragrance. This citrus aromatic fragrance is a modern classic. Wood Sage & Sea Salt is Jo Malone’s newest and unique scent. The two actually go well together or you can even add another layer of Nectarine Blossom & Honey. Personally, I really love the latter on its own too! Another personal favorite is the floral scent of Peony & Blush Suede, which Debbie said might be a big hit here in Manila. Honestly, I’m not really into floral scents but this one gave a lasting impression. It works pretty well in our humid weather.
