A few weeks ago, I joined the Adidas FitSquad Yoga for Surfers Workout. Honestly, it was only my second time to try yoga and my first time to hear about “yoga for surfers”. If you’ve been following me on Instagram (@lush_angel), you probably have an idea that I’m currently into fitness. I’m working on toning and muscle gaining through weight lifting. Yoga is really not part of my routine, but hey, getting into different workouts is good since it can target different muscle group. 😉 Therefore, when I got an invite to the Adidas FitSquad, I immediately messaged my friends. One of the ways to have the drive to workout is to have a fit squad! LOL!
Say hello to my #FitSquad Alyssa Lapid and Jackie Go!
The Adidas FitSquad Yoga for Surfers Workout event happened at Uptown Mall, BGC. We first visited the newest store of Adidas in the same mall to get our yoga outfits.
Ahhh… I was attracted to “boost” once again. But the Adidas Ultraboost I was looking for was not available. Oh well… 🙁 I’ve been abusing my Adidas NMD ever since I got it. I don’t just use it when I workout, but also on casual outfits as seen here: http://lushangel.com/2016/05/30/adidas-nmd-black-and-white/
So, here we are eagerly waiting for our turn to choose…
After dressing up, we went to the venue for the challenge! Haha! Well, it was a surfers class so I was excited for sure! I haven’t surfed for a while now and I badly miss riding waves already. 🙁
The workout sesh was led by Adidas girl and certified raw food chef and surfer chic, Mona Lisa Neuboeck.
So here I am trying to figure out if I should go left or right because my girls are… LOL!
Kidding! Love you, Alyssa! You did great, so you better start working out! Hahaha!
What I realized after the session? I have to work on my flexibility! LOL! At least, I did not ultimately fail since when it comes to poses that need abdominal muscle strength, I’m all good! 😀
In the end, fitness is not just achieving your body goals. More than anything, it’s for your health. It’s for you. It’s for your love ones. Because if you live a healthy lifestyle, your family and friends will be more complacent – at least in the health department.
This event is actually the launch of Adidas’ global campaign, #HereToCreate. Adidas has premiered a new series of films kicking off the brand’s Sport16 initiative, underlining adidas’ leadership and passion for sports.
The first chapter of films, “I’m Here to Create,” is told through a female athlete’s lens and stars global tennis icon Caroline Wozniacki, WNBA All-Star Candace Parker, supermodel/entrepreneur Karlie Kloss, tennis star Ana Ivanovic?, soccer prodigy Morgan Brian, DJ Hannah Bronfman, street athlete Robin Arzon and fitness artist Nicole Winhoffer, among others.
The “I’m Here to Create” film series, created in partnership with 72andSunny, brings to life authentic stories of real female athletes, who show the world the numerous ways in which they embrace creativity to tackle challenges, defy conventions, express themselves and fuel experimentation all in the name of sport.
Through “I’m Here to Create,” adidas will empower athletes across the world to declare how they bring creativity to sport and to celebrate those in their life who have inspired them to push beyond the norm.
Athletes can join the “I’m Here to Create” conversation via #heretocreate on @adidas Twitter, Instagram and Facebook channels and view all films in the series via www.youtube.com/adidas, www.adidas.com/heretocreate.
