Yes, a backpack. With my kind of lifestyle, I would normally use a backpack, specifically the big ones for travel or staycation. But on a usual day, especially in an event, you’ll never see me sporting a backpack – except if it’s as pretty as this!
Surprise! It’s from Outdoor Products! Remember those daypacks from Outdoor Products? Well, well, well… look what they have now. But before I babble here on the styles, colors, and the like, let me give a brief background for those who are not so familiar with the brand.
Outdoor Products is founded by Joel and Perry Altshule in Los Angeles in 1973 at their “Famous Department Store” to address the “everyday life” product needs of their loyal outdoor enthusiast customers. The brand has been providing functional, durable and stylish bags and accessories for almost 40 years and is sold in over 60 countries. It is most popular in Japan, where it has become a total lifestyle brand selling not only bags but accessories and apparel as well.
Outdoor Products is known for its 452U Backpack. It’s a daypack bag that’s light and durable. It uses Cordura Nylon, which is a liner material for car tires – so imagine how heavy-duty it is! From plain backpacks, it collaborated with various brands and cartoon and movie characters – Stussy, Batman, Superman, Betty Boop, Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, Star Wars, Toy Story, etc. Trivia: Do you know that Outdoor is the only bag brand who collaborates with Sanrio and Disney at the same time?!
Today, gone are the days when Outdoor Products’ daypack bags are only for students or for those times when we are left with “no choice” because we need to bring a lot of things. With the new styles, I can say they are now lifestyle bags. No more “dyahe” feeling when you enter in a restaurant or go to a casual gathering in a backpack. The various styles and colors being offered now will make every ladies and gents want to carry an Outdoor Products bag everyday – anytime, anywhere. Vintage-looking to modern silhouettes, bright to pastels to neutral colors – the brand practically has everything. Well, the bags with that “retro” vibe are definitely my choice!

Oh, and one thing I noticed from the new bags – the style is not compromised despite the size. This specific bag I’m carrying is very spacious. In fact, it can be a school bag, yet it doesn’t look bulky. Plus, the style, color combination, and leather trimmings make it look classy. It even blended well with my feminine outfit, don’t you think? 😉
