We all know how committed TOMS is to help improve lives through the brand’s ONE for ONE movement. For those who are not aware, here’s a short background. Blake, Mycoskie, an American traveler, befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. To help them, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. Thus, the birth of ONE for ONE.
As TOMS expanded their product lines, they also served other global needs. For example, for every purchase of TOMS Eyewear, they help restore sight of persons in need. The brand also released premium coffee, wherein they provide clean water to developing communities with every purchase of coffee. Recently, they launched their bag collection to help provide safe births to mothers and babies.
To continue and support this initiative, the brand recently launched TOMS Art of Giving. What is it? Read on.
TOMS collaborated with a few local creative, young talents in the fashion, art and design industries to designs two pairs of TOMS shoes, which are now up for a silent auction. Featured designers are as follows: Bambina Jacinto, Gil Ibe, David Bonifacio, Carlo Ongchangco, Nicole Whisenhunt, Nix Alanan, and Lillianna Manahan. As seen below, their designs showcase their diverse backgrounds.
TOMS Art of Giving Gallery is displayed at TOMS newest store in SM Aura, where you can also bid until May 13, 2015. The customized shoes will be auctioned to the highest bidder and the proceeds will go to each artist’s chosen charities.
