Somebody Makes Me Warm…

Monday, October 26th, 2009

As October nearly comes to an end, the weather here in London just gets colder and colder everyday. Waking up in the morning makes it sooo hard that I always wish I could curl up under my cotton-soft comforter a little bit longer. But that has never been the case even on weekends since I’m making the most out of my stay here in London. Now who keeps me warm every single day???

Carte D’or Strawberry Yoghurt Ice Cream

Friday, October 16th, 2009

My family and I love to eat at Red Mango in Eastwood. If you remember my post about Red Mango (you can also check it out here), it’s the only yoghurt I have learned to love. Hehehe! :-) And because I’m so deprived of rice here in London, I usually look for desserts after meals. I’ve been craving for yoghurt for days now. :-( I’ve been looking for yoghurt places around here but all I can see are bars, bars, and more bars in every single corner! And geeesh, people just wanna stand outside in the damn cold, drinking! Waaaah! Unbelievable! And yes, that’s their dinner. No food or whatsoever. Beer for dinner and that’s it! Ooooh… I can’t live with that!!! Hehehe!

Anyway, going back… After searching for days, I saw this frozen yoghurt at Tesco, their Ministop or 7-Eleven here in London. I decided to try it out since I’m craving for the taste of yoghurt already. Here it is…

House of Wagyu in Eastwood City

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

House of Wagyu is now officially a memorable restaurant for me. Why? It’s where Arthur and I had our last supper. LOL! :-) The eve before he left, I chose to try out House of Wagyu at Eastwood.

Okay, a little drama first… The moment Arthur and I got inside the restaurant, I was feeling both excited and sad. A part of me wanted to be satisfied with my craving for steak, but the other part of me wished that night just didn’t come. :-( Literally, the whole day of Saturday, my heart was just pounding so fast. I couldn’t relax because I know the next day I would see him leave.  So just imagine what I was feeling inside the restaurant… Really mixed emotions. :-) :-( :-) :-(

Anyway, moving on… Hehehe! Probably the only time I started to relax and enjoy that day was when I had the first bite of the steak we ordered. Yes, it is that good! :-)  Don’t get me wrong.  Arthur makes me happy, but a steak can make me happier. Just kidding! Hahaha! :-)

We ordered their famous steak dinner, Wagyu Stone Grill Top Sirloin. There were two sizes available. One is good for 1 person and the other is good for 2. We obviously got the good for 2 Top Sirloin, which weighs 350g. It also comes with a basket of bread and their soup of the day, which was Cream of Carrots. All these for only Php 1,695.

Jang-Gun Korean Restaurant

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

If you have been reading my blog, I have mentioned before how my family loves to dine in different restaurants. We just love to try different cuisines be it Chinese, Spanish, Thai, Filipino, Japanese, American, Persian, Mediterranean, and so on and so forth…

When it comes to Korean cuisine, one of our fave Korean restaurants here in Manila is Jang-Gun. It is located along Libis, Quezon City. It’s one of the restos we often visit when we carve for Korean food. It’s not as authentic as you may think though. The food in Korea really tastes different. Of course, Jang-Gun has adapted the Filipino taste already, though it is good enough for my family’s love for Korean food. So what do we usually order?

Koi Kei Bakery’s Portuguese Egg Tart in Macau

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Probably one of the most famous egg tarts here in Manila is Lord Stow’s. In fact, I used to not like egg tarts, but when Lord Stow’s came to Manila, I tried it and surprisingly loved it! I remember buying those egg tarts every week after having tried it. Of course, it came to a point that I got fed up with it.  It has been years now since I last ate one, until my last trip in Macau. :-)

Mezzaluna

mezzaluna menu

As I have said in my previous post, I celebrated the eve of my birthday at Mezzaluna, Serendra. It was actually my first time to dine there as I have never had an urged to try it out until recently.

mezzaluna restaurantWhen we got inside, there was only one table occupied. I suddenly thought Mezzaluna might be a bad choice, but hello it was a Monday! In fact, after 5 mins, Arthur and I were the only customers left in the restaurant. Hmmm.. Did he actually closed down Mezzaluna for me??? Awwww… LOL! Just kidding! :-)

myron's steak rockwell

myron's menuLast Friday, before watching The Hangover, Arthur and I decided to have a nice dinner. Since we were in Rockwell, we decided to dine at Myron’s. Both of us love to eat steak and we love trying out steaks of different restos- whether it’s a cheapo or a bit pricey. We are definitely a meat lover and kinda adventurous when it comes to food. Well, of course, not the exotic kind of thing. I just meant, adventurous in terms of restos. We love dining out and trying different restaurants. Hmmm… I think Arthur got that thing in restos from my family. Hehehe! :-)

Buenisimo by Café Ysabel Food Review

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Two Sunday’s ago, my family and I ate at this newly opened restaurant at where else, but in Eastwood Mall Veranda. Actually, I think it is not really “new” as it opened last month right after we left for vacation. Anyway, I’m talking about Buenisimo by Café Ysabel. Yes, the Café Ysabel that we all used to love. It is one of my family’s fave resto since I was a kid. I remember we usually eat at their antique style San Juan branch almost every Sunday for lunch. And when my mom saw Buenisimo, she immediately said that we would be eating dinner there.

The moment we got inside the restaurant, there was a big group already seated waiting for their orders. When I glanced at them, everyone looked so familiar. It was the Cojuanco’s. Hehehe! :-) Okay, just a side showbiz chizmax, we all know that China Cojuanco is now a chef. Well, for those who doesn’t know, now you know. Hehehe! Her current boyfriend is Chef Gino Gonzales, the son of the famous Gene Gonzales. They own Café Ysabel, which is probably why the Cojuanco’s were there. Hehehe! But really, even if this prominent family did not have any connections with the owners, I’m quite sure they would still be eating at Buenisimo. It is a restaurant that will surely be visited by either common or famous people. Why? The food is just sooo delicious!!! I suddenly missed my childhood days! When I was a kid, I only ordered their pasta, pasta, and only pasta! Hehehe! Well, at least this time, we tried something else, but of course, their pasta will always be part of our meal. :-)  Take a look at what we ordered below. Pardon the pictures as I only used my camera phone. I forgot to bring my cameras! Errrr!
