For all the baghags and Chanel lovers out there, you have probably heard that Chanel had another price increase for their classic bags last August 2010. OMG! Chanel has been frequently increasing their prices! This is too much!!! 🙁 I’m just so glad that I have purchased my Chanel must-have bags on my list already. Although I have a few more in mind, I now think I have to stop as Chanel is going over board! I love Chanel! I just hope I can resist- maybe NOT! LOL! 🙂 Well, that’s the problem! Chanel very well knows that baghags like me can’t resist! It’s Chanel. It’s timeless. It’s classic. Chanel is Chanel. 🙂
Anyway, I’ve been receiving a lot of questions about Chanel classic bags’ prices after the increase. Just to make things clear, here are some Chanel classic bags’ current prices in Paris and in US. Some bags do not have prices in both currencies though as this is only what I’ve got in my current research. I hope this still helps. 🙂 Oh, and I have also included the style code and dimensions of the flap bags. 🙂

Geesh! It suddenly dawned upon me that I just got my Chanel 2.55 Medium Flap Bag last year, as seen in this post. Guess what?! I got it for only €1,710 in Austria. Well, I even felt bad ‘coz they just had a price increase then. But look at the price now! Whew! It’s now €2,460!!! That’s €750 increase already in just a year! 🙁 Don’t you think that’s too much?! 🙁

hey lush angel! i just bought med/large lamb flap in shw..i’m hoping to get the jumbo beige clair caviar
with ghw or a red jumbo flap but with all these price increases i don’t think i can save enough..

Hey spongie! Yeah, Chanel has been insanely increasing their prices. 🙁 Same here, as much as I wanna get more of their bags, now I feel their prices are too much. I just can’t get one right now. I hope in the future I can have another baby Chanel. Hehe! 🙂 Anyway, with regards to the new beige, I’m not really a fan of their light beige. Well, simply because I can’t really take good care of it. It’s too high maintenance for me. I know I can easily get it dirty. Hehe! Personally, I’m really a fan of Chanel’s camel-like shade of beige. It’s more yellowish and a bit darker. I hope Chanel could bring back that color. Well, the new beige of Chanel is definitely a great option if you want a light colored bag. I would rather get that than getting a white one. 🙂

I know right! If I’m not mistaken, I think this is the second for the year. 🙁 Nope, I don’t think GST and PST are included. Well, probably because GST increased its price big time when the 2010 GST came out…
Hello dear…just wanted to let the Chenal lovers know that I just had my friend bought me the PST in Germany and it is €1,000 still. It is $1600 in US. I LOVE my Chanel bags and totally agree with the price increase is toooo crazy!!!

Yeah, chanel bags cost too much now!!! 🙁 Hmmm… Balenciaga… I’d go for the black city. Well, that is IF I don’t have any black bag yet in that size. If i do or if I’m planning to get a big black bag in the future, I’d go for the red one. 🙂 I’m kinda biased coz I own a giant city in red (pomegranate). I chose the red one coz I was already planning of getting a black GST at that time. And since GST is already a big bag, I got the red one for my Balenciaga. 🙂

I will ask my friend to get for me in Italy, is it difficult to get? I mean how is the demand for that? I am also interested in the GST.
Hi Nina! Sorry for the super late reply! I was out the past few days. I hope you can still read this on time before your friend gets you one from Italy. 🙂 Anyway, lambskin leather is a really smooth leather so it’s a little bit shinier than caviar. If you take a closer look at the leather in this post (http://lushangel.com/2010/05/31/2010-chanel-grand-shopping-tote-prices-plus-more-details/), it has like a “cobbled” texture. That is caviar. The lambskin leather does not have that “cobbled” texture. Here in Manila, Chanel bags with lambskin leather are priced higher, but I still prefer the caviar leather. Lambskin can easily get scratched and if it does, it’s more noticeable because of its smoothness. If you want a low maintenance bag, I suggest you go for caviar leather. The Jumbo Flap Bag in GH and GST are great choices! Both are classics so sometimes Chanel boutiques run out of stock. I’m not sure on the demand in Italy, but from my experience in London and Austria, they sell like pancakes!!! 🙂 Once stocks arrive, almost all classic bags get sold out in a matter of few hours. Each boutique has very limited number of stocks. 🙂
