If you’ve seen my Dressing Up and Down outfit post, here’s a closer look of my makeup that day. A lot of ladies are not so comfortable wearing purple eye shadow since it can look like a bruise if not applied correctly. Here’s a way to use purple shades of eye shadow, which can be done by those who love neutrals too.

  • After cleansing, toning, moisturizing and applying sunblock, I primed my face with Laura Mercier foundation primer.
  • Then, using Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush, I evenly applied Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation all over my face.
  • For more coverage, I used Cinema Secrets concealer under the eyes and on blemishes.
  • To set the foundation and concealer, I patted some loose powder all over my face and brushed off any excess.

I used two palettes for my eyes- Bobbi Brown Black Pearl Eye Shadow Palette and Shu Uemura Chocolat Donna Raspberry & Mocha Palette.

  • Bobbi Brown #2 Tin Metallic Eye Shadow (metallic light lilac/ violet) all over the lid
  • Shu Uemura #2 Pink Metallic and #5 Chocolate Brown on the crease
  • Shu Uemura #4 Dark Purple Metallic on the outer-v
  • Bobbi Brown #3 Black Velvet Sparkle Eye Shadow (glittery/sparkly purple) and Shu Uemura #1 glittery Bronze patted on the center of the lid
  • Bobbi Brown #1 White Eye Shadow on the brow bone
  • Shu Uemura #3 shimmer on the inner corner of the eye

  • For the upper and lower lash lines, I used Bobbi Brown Kohl Cake Liner.
  • I also used #2 Tin Metallic Eye Shadow (metallic light lilac/ violet) for the lower lash line and Shu Uemura #4 Dark Purple Metallic for the outer corner.
  • I curled my lashes and brushed a few strokes of mascara.
  • I finished off the look with a nice mix of pink and red blush and with a neutral lipstick.

For those who aren’t into bright and bold purple shades, go for subtle hint of purples and mix it with neutrals.
