Boracay Activities

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Remember I went to Boracay last week of August?  Well, I owe you that story, so here it is. :-)

My friends and I stayed (again) in Island Nook.  We partied (again) all night long.  We enjoyed (again) the sunny weather.  And we attempted (again) different activities.

This Boracay trip is all about adventure, different activities, all in one day. :-)

Lush Angel Heads Off to Boracay

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Yay! Beach is what I need right now! After an uber stressful week, a relaxing weekend getaway is what I need. Well, it’s a long weekend here in Manila so this Bora trip is just so timing! :-)

I can’t wait to try out parasailing and zorb this time. Oh, and the shakes in Jonah’s, I need a dose of that everyday! The food… Hmmm… Can’t wait to go back to Smokes for their delicious Sizzling Bulalo! Oh, and I shouldn’t forget Big Mama’s affordable dishes too. Ummm… I also feel like eating Italian. Aria would be perfect for my Italian craving. Or I can also go for the eat-all-you-can mongolian buffet at Villa de Oro, eh? For my snacks, Chori-burger is what I like!!! I missed that a lot! And last but not the least, I need my Chocolate Sin dessert at Zuzuni!!! I’ve been haunted by its taste for months now! :-) Shoot! Looks like I’ll be gaining weight when I get back! Most of my plans are to satisfy my food cravings! LOL! :-)

But of course, Bora won’t be complete without bar hopping. I wonder what their national anthem is this time. Hehehe! Last summer, it was Poker Face. Hmmm… I will be ready for this trip’s LSS. Hahaha!

Awww… Wish I could stay in this paradise for more than a week. Hehehe! :-) I need to stay dreaming about that as I’ve gone overboard with my vacations. :-( After tracking back my trips in detail for the past 10 years last week, I just realized that I’ve been to 11 countries (well, plus Bora and Palawan, if I’m counting my vacations this year) all for 2009! I wanna faint! Anyway, I don’t wanna think about that now. I might really faint when I think about my expenses that came with all that. I just can’t wait to chillax at Boracay paradise. :-)

xoxo,

Lush Angel is back from “Surfing”

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Well, there’s not really much to share. As I’ve said here, when I arrived in La Union last Friday morning, there was just like a big swimming pool out there. No waves at all! How the heck could we surf?! :-(  We ended up going to Baguio in the afternoon just to take pictures and to eat dinner at my fave, Café by the Ruins. I will share them here soon. :-)

A Break from the City Life

Friday, August 21st, 2009

That’s what I need. :-) As part of my birthday celebration, my friends and I hopped on to our surfboards as the waves brought us to La Union! :-) I want to do something different for my birthday as my celebration has always been nightouts, house parties, dinner or lunch treats. Ever since I tried out surfing last July, my feeling of wanting to go back to La Union never died. It’s now something I wanna do over and over again, if time allows. :-) The road trip to La Union, the company of friends, the relaxing beach, the adrenalin rush, the fun, the accomplishment when I get to stand on the surfboard- all make the surfing experience one of the best memories in my life. And now that it’s the weekend after my birthday and it’s a long weekend, which makes it even better, surfing is definitely the perfect birthday celebration, eh?! :-)

Surfing Makes Me High

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Uh-huh, that’s new! :-) I have never felt high with any sports. There are only a few sports I have tried since I was a kid, namely swimming, volleyball, pingpong and golf. That’s it! Nothing more, nothing less! :-) I never stick to one sport. I’m the type of person who tries something then outgrow it eventually. Take for example, when I was in grade school (I think) when everybody seems to be into golf, i tried playing the sport for a few times. I even ended up buying a golf set of my own. This pushed me to play golf every weekend at the very least. After a few months though, I got tired of it. Looking back, how I wish I just used the money to buy a bag. LOL! I wasn’t a bag hag then, so I’m kinda excused to making such foolish decisions. Hehehe!

Zorb is Now in Boracay

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

I have enjoyed my long weekend vacation last June 12 and guess what, another long weekend is coming up on August. :-) You know what this means?  Time to plan another trip! Hahaha! :-)

One can never out grow Boracay. Its beautiful shores, great sunset, mouth-watering foods, exciting activities, and party-all-night spots just makes one keep coming back to Bora.  My friends and I plan to go back to Boracay on August.  Again, we’d be staying in Island Nook.  It’s an affordable and yet comfy place that everyone would be satisfied.  And if you happen to meet the yuppie owners of the place, they are very accommodating.  They’d be glad to tell you the whereabouts of the cool places and fun activities of the island.  It is through them that I came to know about this new, cool activity in Boracay that my friends and I have yet to try in August.  It’s called Zorb.

Lush Angel is on Adrenalin Rush!

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Just a quickie post. First of all, pardon if I do not have a scheduled post today. I’m currently on vacation (again) and as of yesterday, I wasn’t sure if my friends and I are pushing through. Why? Because of the bad wave forecast… So do you have any clue where I am and what I’m doing? Okay, let me just tell you… I’m currently having the greatest adventure of my life. Yah, adrenalin for me and I think I found a new sport. Hehehe! :-) I’m now in La Union and read this- I AM SURFING! Imagine that! Errrr… I couldn’t believe what I just said. LOL! :-) You know, I’m not sporty at all! The only workout I do is cardio, which is my mall shopping and occasional travel. Hahaha! But here I am… liking or I mean, LOVING the feeling of standing on a surf board. Geeesh! Fulfillment! :-) So what’s on my mind right now? Hmmm… I need to be back and I need to schedule another trip SOON! I now believe that surfing can really be addicting! :-)

Anyways, to my readers, tomorrow is another surfing day but I prepared for a scheduled post so be sure to visit my site! :-)  I need to cut this short since I need a lot of rest. I need energy!!! :-) Watch out for my stories on my surfing adventure soon.

P.S. I now have surfing battle scars- both knees and both elbows! :-(

xoxo,

Lush Angel :-)

My Coron, Palawan Getaway

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Last May 23 to 25, my friends and I went to Coron, Palawan. This was actually a week’s preparation only, which, by the way, I completely discourage. We were choosing between Caramoan and Coron, Palawan, but since the weather in Caramoan is quite unpredictable, especially that the rainy season was starting then, we decided to go to Palawan instead.

Boracay Helmet Diving or Reef Walking

Friday, June 5th, 2009

helmet diving equipmentOne of the highlights of my Boracay vacation is the reef walking (or others also call it helmet diving). First of all, why is it called Reef Walking? Well, obviously, it is because you are walking on an area where there is reef. Ummm… though to be honest, it wasn’t so obvious to me. Hahaha! I just don’t wanna go into detail because my idea of reef walking is really embarrassing and funny! :-) Anyway, it is also called Helmet Diving since you use a helmet with a loooong hose attached to it. The hose is connected to the oxygen tank, which is placed inside the boat. In this way, you are able to breathe normally. It is not like scuba diving where you carry the tank behind your back and breathe through your mouth. Okay, if you have been following my blog, I know I said here I did not have any plans of joining my friends in this activity. Well, I have to take that back. At the very last minute, I was convinced to go with them and I’m so glad I did. :-) Why? Read below.

Lush Angel is Back from Coron, Palawan

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

I actually arrived last night around 6:30pm. I intentionally did not do a scheduled post for yesterday as I planned to write a post when I get home, but geesh… I just can’t!!! I was too tired to think and even type! I ended up eating dinner, taking a bath, then going straight to bed. I did not even have the energy to open the television. It was a tiring vacation, but of course, relaxing at the same time. Hehehe! Well, tiring because we only stayed in Palawan for 3 days and 2 nights so we made the most out of our stay. The second day was literally swimming the entire day. I never thought it would be that exhausting. My legs wanted to give up! Hehehe! :-)  Nevertheless, it was still relaxing to see the breathtaking sceneries of Coron, Palawan. If you have been following my blog, I never really go around the Philippines as my family would rather go out of the country. I have never seen my parents set their foot on a beach. They just don’t like it. It was only recently when I, together with my friends, tried to visit the far away beaches in the Philippines. When I say “far away beaches”, I’m talking about those places that need a plane ride from Manila since the nearby beaches like Batangas, Subic, etc. are just weekend getaways when my friends and I just feel like swimming. Hehehe! And so far, there are only two far away beaches that I have been to…as of now… Hehehe! :-) That is Boracay and now, Coron.  And, I’m starting to enjoy it! It’s only now that I understand why Philippine tourism advertize the country as WOW Philippines! When I started to search for places to visit around the country, it really is WOW! :-) I never thought that there are such marvelous places here in the country. It’s only now that I appreciate how beautiful beaches are.  As for Coron, I find the place a real paradise. The huge rock formations that I saw in other countries are actually here in the Philippines! I kept on appreciating the wonders in other countries thinking that there are no such places here, but while we were cruising the islands of Coron, I instantly thought of Taiwan and Guilin, China. I now believe that Philippines can actually compete with the marvelous natural sceneries in other countries. Coron is also a very intimate place, which adds to the relaxing feel,  unlike Boracay which is already commercialized. Well, probably it will soon be like the Boracay of Palawan since the famous hotels in Bora, such as Two Seasons and Regency, plan to do business there. Hehehe! So this Palawan trip is so timing – just before everything in Coron would be expensive. :-) Anyway, I need to cut this short. More stories to tell about Coron, Palawan soon as I need to wake myself up to get back to work! Argh! So hard…. Hehehe! :-)

Anyway, goodbye for now.

xoxo,

Lush Angel :-)
